章 18: Obstacle race
~POV: 3rd Person~
All The second years waited for the depart signal to start the race. While everyone is tense and concentrated. Akira looks completely carefree as if the game is just a walk in the park. He places himself behind everyone
'I just have to walk on the walls until Todoroki does his thing.'
Meanwhile in the teacher's box, All Might looks at his successor with mixed emotions of expectations but also worry
'Good luck My boy.' he has expectations for his successor because he doesn't know anything about Izuku's progress During the last two weeks
Back at the gate, the countdown began... 3...2...1
"Start!" (Midnight)
The students rush in the tunnel even if they rapidly block each other
"Here we go! Ready to help Eraser Head?" (Mic)
"You dragged me here by force." (Aizawa)
"So when do you think the hostilities will begin?"
"It already started."
Meanwhile in the gateway when the students bump into each other and are hardly advancing through this tight passage. Akira just walk horizontally on the wall without being bothered by the others
Izuku for his part is struggling to get out of this tight space, he is waiting to get out to use the OFA because he still doesn't want to use it against his fellow first years from other branches
Todoroki, for his part, has no problem doing what Izuku can't
'This gate is our first filter' he thought while freezing the ground along with other contenders' foots, immobilizing them
"It's cold!"
"I cant' move"
The first ones to pass after Todoroki are Kirishima, Bakugo propelling himself in the air and Yaoyorozu creating a pole to pass over the ice
"You won't loose me this easily double-face bastard!" (Bakugo)
"It's sweet Todoroki-san" (Yaoyorozu)
Before Todoroki knew it, a familiar figure is running right next to him on his left
"As she said, it's too soft to stop us." (Akira)
Todoroki and Bakugo appears like their usual character on the outside but on the inside they starts to panic. They never accoutered someone their age this strong before. It makes them feel like they don't see the depth of his powers. The so called "fear of the unknown"
the next ones to pass are Ojiro, Tokoyami and Mina followed by the rest of class A and B. Some of the other first years also passed his ice
Akira and Todoroki run at the same speed because for Akira, it won't be fun if he just go on his own. Surprisingly (or not) Mineta is just behind them
"I saw your move coming Todoroki! Now you two how about you swallow my killer move…" (Mineta)
'You should always remain aware of your surroundings' (Akira)
WHAM
Mineta took a Robots hit and is sent flying through the sky
"Mineta-kun!"
Izuku seems worried about his well-being
'Don't loose your time with him.'
"Target detected... Multiple"
The students first run into a consequent number of robots with several 0 points from the exam
"Now the candidates face a major obstacle. We begin with the first one, the Robot inferno."
Most of the students are nervous at the idea of fighting giants robots the height of a building
"These are the 0P from the entrance exam!" (Kaminari)
the students from other branches starts to panic at Kaminari's words
"So these are the famous 0P from the exam huh?" (Todoroki)
"where do they get the funds for all that?" (Yaoyorozu)
'I can return the question to you Ojou-sama.' (Akira)
Akira turns to Izuku next to him who also look a him with a challenging look
'Oh? You want to challenge me?' (Akira)
'Yes! i will do my best!' (Izuku)
No words are necessary to understand each other after two weeks of training together morning till night everyday, they start to have a certain understanding of each other. They turn to the robots once again
'Aren't you getting cocky since a few days ago? Fine... but don't expect me to cead the first place this easily.' (Akira)
'OFA Full Cowl 4%' Izuku, no capable of using 4% without drawbacks other than fatigue, prepare himself to go. Green, harmless, electricity comes out of his body
'I don't need to use enhancements techniques nor the sharingan for this' Akira for his part will go like he is
One of the Robots is ready to attack and while Todoroki prepares his ice, two figures kicked the ground and runs toward the robots. Akira didn't bother destroying them and simply dodges their incoming attacks.
Izuku tries to do the same but is not skilled enough to dodge every robots so he destroys them with his augmented strength instead
"Deku-kun since when..." (Uraraka)
before she could finish one of the 0P is encased in ice and explosion sounds starts to resound. Todoroki and Bakugo seeing Akira and Izuku ahead of them decided to rush things a bit
Todoroki slide on his ice to catch up to them and Bakugo use his explosions to "fly". By the way, Bakugo is extremely pissed off right now and the reason is obvious
"Deku you bastard you were able to use your quirk well since the beginning, are you mocking me?!"
he feels threatened by Izuku's progress
'Are you blind or something? No one wants to destroy their bones just for the sake of hiding one's skill. He is probably blinded by anger and pride at this moment.'
Profiting from Todoroki's ice, the other students of class Are the first to follow their classmates. They destroy all the robots on heir way.
"The first one to pass is Uchiha Akira From 1-A but Izuzku Midoriya follows him tightly! And the rest pf class A goes after them!" (Mic)
Akira looks behind him to confirm Present Mic's words while dodging a robot's hit coming from his left. Indeed his classmates are behind and are just taking advantage a free way thanks to Izuku, Todoroki and Bakugo
'They really are following. Their powerlessness when seeing me destroying villains really morivate them, good.'
"The class 1-A is really motivated who can stop them?!"
"As expected the first ones to are the 1-A!" (Mic)
Meanwhile in the teacher's area
All Might is in his best mood right now
'Good work my boy! You can finally control the OFA in a decent way. It seems that i worried for nothing, I'm sorry.'
"They needed to avoid these 0P during the exam but now that the students have to deal with it, the robot's weakness is obvious" (Snipe)
"Indeed the other classes aren't bad. But class 1-A already tasted the world above them. After fighting for their lives something like the sports festival seems trivial. They were able to fight fearing for their live which now allows them to act without hesitation. At least most of them..." (All Might)
No more words are needed, the other teachers know very well who he was referring to.
Back to the race the students finally made it to the second game
"If the first barrier was too easy then behold the second area the FALL! If you fall you are out unless you want to crawl out!"
while the other candidates arrive at the second obstacle, the quartet are about to finish it
"The four ahead widen the gap they passed half of the FALL."
Akira, Izuku, Todoroki and Bakugo in order cross the FALL. Akira and Izuku run on the ropes, however Izuku seems to be in difficulty since he isn't used to it yet and is forced to slow down. Todoroki just slides with his ice on the ropes and Bakugo totally ignores the ropes and "fly" over this seemingly endless pit.
"Deku you bastard don't go ahead of me!"
Bakugo gets a bit impatient after witnessing Izuku's rapid progress and noticed something
'Deku moves like Ninfreak. That bastard is probably involved in his rapid growth somehow.'
while Bakugo is thinking that the four of them reached the end of the zone. The other students from heroic branch manage to shrink the gap a little but are still far from the top 4
"The Duo in first and second widens the gap between the third and fourth they finished the second obstacle!"
Akira and Izuku are the first ones to arrive to the third area
"Here we are with the final obstacle and it is none other than... the minefield! If you look carefully you can spot them. they are not powerful but enough to knock out someone!" (Mic)
"It depends on the person." (Aizawa)
Akira and Izuku didn't wast time en enter the field. Their progress is significantly slower than other zone but...
'That wouldn't be fun if i left everybody in the dust.'
Akira continues on his track. Todoroki and Bakugo are about to catch up. One freeze the mines and the other just passes over.
"It doesn't matter to me! Deku you won't win this and that goes for you too Ninfreak!" (Bakugo)
'Ninfreak? You don't have better than that?' (Akira)
When they reach half of the mine field Todoroki and Bakugo finally caught up with them
"Move out of my way!" (Akira)
Bakugo attacks Izuku first but the former dodges.
"I'm sorry but you won't end up first."
Todoroki tries to freeze Akira's arm but is avoided with only a step on the side. Meanwhile a little ahead of them Akira and Izuku continued crossing the minefield.
"Are you sure they will be okay?" (Izuku)
Izuku ask to his classmates before him. they look at the two behind them, Bakugo's and Todoroki's eyes seem unfocused
"They will be fine, i just show them what they want to see." (Akira)
Yes... Bakugo and Todoroki are actually fighting each other under the influence of Akira's Genjutsu. Behind them, in the group of students who try to pass cross the zone and amidst explosions, Akira spots Mineta with a perverted expression and Yaoyorozu with a distressed look on her face. He knew what Mineta is going to do
'Not on my watch.'
With Mineta and Yaoyorozu
"AHAHAHA... How about you taste my killer Move..."
"You're the worst..."
Before...Mineta is about to launch his "killer move" when he stops moving. He feels like as if he is tied to the ground by steel wires
"I-i can't move... why?"
Yaoyorozu takes advantage of this and escape. Mineta search around to find a solution but then spots Akira looking at him with his silver sharingan on. Mineta immediately understood that he is the responsible
"AKIRA YOU BASTARD!"
He yells so loudly that everyone in the field can hear him
'Genjutsu Sharingan: Kanashibari no Jutsu' (Paralysis Jutsu)
'You don't need to thank me, it is my pleasure. Don't worry the effect will wear in a few seconds.' (Akira)
