Mrs. Qian firmly denied any wrongdoing, insistent that she was not going to be the scapegoat for benefits she hadn't reaped.
Zhang Xiaoying sneered.
Mrs. Qian looked embarrassed.
"Xiaoying, this is all I know, the rest really has nothing to do with me. It's my lack of foresight that led me to cause trouble at your house today, but since I've told you all this, let me and my family off the hook, your father's death truly wasn't our doing."
Mrs. Qian pleaded with Zhang Xiaoying again.
"My children and grandchildren are no good, I was just hoping to make something off of you to help them live a better life, it was all my own idea. They're clueless, they just followed me here, that's all."
Zhang Xiaoying stared at her.
Mrs. Qian had lost her previous arrogance and didn't dare to put on airs anymore, thinking only of quickly calming the situation to prevent Zhang Xiaoying from possibly throwing their entire family into jail, which would ruin them completely.
