Jessica froze, her hands clutching the plate she'd just picked up as her entire body went rigid under the unexpected sensation. The shock of his bold move mixed with the warmth of his lips on hers, sent a confusing jolt through her system.

It was a light kiss. Just his lips on hers, that was it, but for some reason the simple contact made her tingle all over and she felt strangely affected by it.

Damon pulled away, and looked into her face to gauge her reaction. He watched as the initial shock gave away and her green eyes narrowed, simmering with barely contained fury. "Have you lost your mind?" she demanded, voice low and dangerous.

"I have," Damon replied, completely unruffled. "I told you already, didn't I? I'm crazy about you. And your smart mouth." His voice held a playful edge, but his gaze was intense, unwavering.

Jessica's jaw tightened. "If you weren't my boss, I'd slap you right now."
