Delilah took a steadying breath as she stepped out of the ladies' room, smoothing the fabric of her dress and pushing back a lock of hair that had escaped her neat chignon.

As she approached their table, she noticed Hunter leaning back in his chair, his expression unreadable as he watched her return.

For a moment, she hesitated, not sure how to face him after kissing him that way publicly. She also knew he would most likely want to ask questions concerning her relationship with Conner.

When she finally reached the table, Delilah offered Hunter a soft, apologetic smile as she took her seat. "I'm sorry about all that drama earlier," she said, her voice laced with genuine regret.

Hunter shook his head, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "You don't need to apologize, Lila. I'm just glad I was there. Especially for the kiss," he joked, with a playful smiled
