As Hunter and Delilah made their way back to the car after a long day of shopping and just hanging out, Delilah glanced at Hunter, feeling a mix of frustration and something she couldn't quite name.
After lunch, instead of heading back home, she had asked that they window shop and wander through the mall with Hunter carrying their bags.
And then they had paused at a bookstore, where she picked up a novel she had been wanting to read while Hunter browsed through the business section.
After that, she suggested they get him shoes and watches to match the suits he had gotten, and then she did a little shopping for herself, and now the day was dark.
She didn't want to admit that part of the reason she had made sure they spent all of their day out was because she didn't want to be alone in the house with him.
She wanted them to go into their separate rooms the moment they got home and not see each other until morning. That was her plan.
