The conversation with Jessica had stirred up old memories, emotions Delilah had long since buried.

As she always did whenever she thought about the past, she wondered how their late mother would if she knew that they were estranged from their father and the woman whom she had once thought her best friend was married to him.

She was barely cold in her grave before her so-called best friend moved into their home and took over her husband.
