"Trying to act tough, girl."

Roger felt somewhat helpless; even in his company, this girl didn't want to appear too useless.

When confronted with danger, the werewolf ahead did not choose to dive into the thicket but charged toward the not-so-distant cabin.

If anyone said that house wasn't strange, Roger would never believe it.

He was not so idle as to let the monster before him dive into the cabin and then, with a burst of strength, duke it out with him in a fearsome fight.

He would rather crush his opponent outright.
