"Go, issue a new bounty mission," Elec commanded. "Announce that Granolah has leaked the secrets of the Heeter Family and betrayed the group. He is guilty of a heinous crime, so a bounty has been placed on his head. He can be killed on sight. All mercenaries and assassins who participate in the hunt will receive 1,000 gold coins. The one who takes his head will be rewarded with 100,000 gold coins."
That day, all the mercenaries and assassins under the Heeter's command were initially shocked, then overjoyed. They set out in full force to hunt down Granolah. They had long harbored animosity toward him, and now they had a legitimate reason to seek revenge.
On the other hand, Granolah had been defeated on Earth. Trunks and Bulma didn't make things too difficult for him and allowed him to leave.
However, after Bulma's deduction, Granolah's trust in the Heeter Family plummeted to zero. Although Bulma's suspicions might not have been entirely accurate, Granolah could only think of the Heeter Family when he considered who might have planted a bug on Oatmeel.
A seed of doubt had been planted.
As he calmed down, Granolah began to realize that something was terribly wrong.
Why did Macki and Oil suddenly appear on Planet Cereal? Why did Elec contact me right after they left and claim to have news about Frieza and the Saiyans? Why was a bug installed on Oatmeel?
Why?
Why did all of this happen?
Is it just a coincidence?
No, it can't be a coincidence.
Elec must be planning something.
Is there something on Planet Cereal that Elec wants?
Calm down, calm down… Think…
What could it be?
The Cerealian talent to strengthen the left eye? No…
Grandpa Monaito?
As he thought of Monaito, Granolah's eyes suddenly flashed with red fury.
Yes, Grandpa Monaito… and the Dragon Balls. It must be the Dragon Balls.
That has to be it.
Although he didn't know the exact purpose of Macki and Oil's sudden visit to Planet Cereal, Granolah was certain they had overheard the secret of the Dragon Balls.
Then that guy Elec found a way to get me out of the picture.
Elec knew his weaknesses and how to exploit his desires. It was all too easy to trick him into leaving for Earth.
Grandpa Monaito is in danger!
Panic set in.
"Oatmeel, change course immediately! Return to Planet Cereal as quickly as possible!"
"Why? What's going on, Granolah?" Oatmeel asked, confused, but still followed the order and adjusted the spacecraft's flight path.
Granolah clenched his fists, gritting his teeth. "Because I know what Elec is planning. Their target is the Dragon Balls, and Grandpa Monaito is in danger."
"Ah? Then we'll go at maximum speed. We should reach Planet Cereal in about four or five days."
Swoosh!
Blue flames erupted from the bottom of the spacecraft, propelling it forward as it sped through space.
But Granolah had no idea what kind of danger awaited him.
Three Days Later
Granolah had spent the past few days in a state of anxiety, his unease growing stronger by the hour.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before something went wrong.
Oatmeel issued a warning. "Granolah, it looks like we're being followed. Look behind us—there are several spaceships on our tail."
Granolah checked the screen, which was flashing red with alarms. There were indeed four or five spaceships chasing them.
"What should we do now?" Oatmeel asked.
Granolah frowned. "These must be Elec's men, sent to stop us from returning to Planet Cereal. We don't have time to waste on them. We need to keep moving forward at full speed."
"Understood."
At the cost of damaging the drive, the spacecraft's speed increased significantly.
The Next Day
Despite their efforts, Granolah realized they hadn't shaken off their pursuers. In fact, the number of spaceships had increased. There were now more than ten, and the count was still rising.
"Damn it!" Granolah cursed, his fists clenched, veins bulging on his forehead.
"I'm going to deal with these flies. Oatmeel, you take control of the spacecraft," Granolah instructed.
"Yes." Oatmeel detached from Granolah and took over the ship's controls.
Granolah pressed a button, and the skylight on top of the spacecraft opened. He leaned out, his left eye glowing with a strange red light.
He formed a gun with his right hand, aiming at the nearest spaceship.
Whoosh!
An emerald green Ki blast shot from his fingertips, striking the closest ship and exploding it into fireworks.
The sudden explosion sent ripples of unrest through the surrounding space.
Most of the mercenaries following him were only in it for the commission, not wanting to engage directly. They knew Granolah was dangerous.
But now that Granolah had struck first, there was no turning back.
"Asshole!"
Some of the mercenaries were enraged.
At this point, they had no choice but to fight back.
The explosion served as the spark that ignited a full-blown battle.
"Shoot him down!"
Suddenly, all the ships opened fire, launching attacks at Granolah's spacecraft.
Oatmeel did its best to maneuver the ship, dodging the incoming fire, while Granolah continued to fire green Ki blasts.
A fierce space chase ensued. Granolah shot down several ships, but more and more kept appearing.
Within half a day, they were surrounded not just by pursuers, but by interceptors as well.
Granolah's forehead was slick with sweat from the intense focus and prolonged fighting. He was beginning to pant from exhaustion.
His spacecraft wasn't faring much better—thick black smoke was trailing from the tail.
Heeter Family Base
Elec sat in his chair, hands supporting his chin, lost in thought.
Gas stood beside him, silent and still as a statue. His presence alone gave Elec a strong sense of security.
At that moment, Elec's communicator buzzed.
For some reason, Elec felt a sudden pang of nervousness. He glanced at the screen—it was Macki.
He exhaled sharply and answered the call.
"Hey, Macki, any progress?" Elec asked, getting straight to the point.
On the other end, Macki's laughter echoed. "Hehe, we finally found the other Dragon Ball."
"Haha, really? That's fantastic!" Elec exclaimed, slapping his thigh as he leaped to his feet, visibly excited.
"Of course! Oil and I posted a global bounty with a huge reward, and we finally found it at the home of a Sugarian man. He picked up the two-star Dragon Ball a few years ago and kept it as a decoration until he saw our bounty notice. So, he handed it over, hehe," Macki explained.
Elec's spirits soared. He paced the hall, laughing. "Haha, Macki, well done! You and Oil stay put—we'll be there soon."
"Okay," Macki replied.
Elec turned to Gas, who remained motionless. "Let's go, Gas. We're heading to Planet Cereal."
"Okay." Gas transformed from a statue back into a man, ready to move.
