章 12: Hold my beer? No, hold my milk!
"It seems you're enjoying yourself too much, Arcueid. Have you forgotten you are supposed to be Gaia's dog?" Altrouge stared at Arcueid, who was odd among others. While they either enjoyed wine or beer, she was sipping a glass of milk. This childish act earned disdain from her.
"You are already old, yet you are still drinking milk? Where is the dignity of Brunestud you should uphold?"
She wanted to grab her sister's collar and question her. In the end, she gave up. This was a banquet, after all, not a place to fight.
"I don't care, leave me alone, Altrouge." Arcueid glared and dismissed her presence without hesitation as she kept sipping her milk and enjoyed herself in a corner.
She didn't like to talk and didn't bother to talk with others. It's not that she hated communication, but all the people here were either maniacs, psychopaths, or had a screw loose in their heads. They had no common topics at all. How could she talk with maniacs?
"Humph, let me taste it. I don't know why you are even drinking something that is meant for children." Altrouge snatched her glass of milk without hesitation and gulped it in one go as Arcueid stared at her oddly.
"Gross," Arcueid said with disgust. "You drank the leftover. You should find your own if you want to drink milk."
Altrouge was too lazy to respond to her mocking and returned the glass of milk to her as she sat beside Arcueid.
"Why did you leave our brother's side? Shouldn't you be sitting beside him?" Arcueid asked in doubt.
"You have no idea what happens when he is overstepped and angry. For now, I should leave him alone, letting him have his own peace," Altrouge whispered.
"His anger issues should be stopped. He would destroy himself in the process if he still couldn't control his anger. He will never be at peace if he is always consumed with anger. And you, Arcueid, you are the only one who could give him peace. You should go to Titus and talk with him."
"I? I don't think he would change because someone told him to. I tried to stop him from his unnecessary massacre in Jerusalem, and he didn't listen." Arcueid gave up completely changing him and took a different approach. Since she couldn't change him, she could stand by his side and prevent him from doing unnecessary cruelty like he did in Jerusalem.
"He did. The very reason why he didn't wipe out Jerusalem completely was because of you, wasn't it?" Altrouge asked rhetorically.
"Now, go, sister. Talk to him. Only you can save him from his own terrible end."

Titus stared at Arcueid bringing the glass of milk to his table and stared at all the people present who were either drinking wine or beer. He didn't know what to say for a moment.
"What do you want, Arcueid? Do you want to convince me to be less harsh to Yu Mei Ren? If you are talking to me because of this, then it's too bad. She has left and probably ran with her tail between her legs back to China again." Titus chuckled darkly.
"Can you not always expect the worst from me, brother? Why do you always think that I talk to you because I want to stop you? No wonder Altrouge left your side. You're such a jerk, indeed." Arcueid responded angrily.
"Well, you gave me such an impression. Of course, I will apologize if I was wrong." Titus patted the seat beside him, signaling her it was fine for her to sit beside him.
She hopped in as she took her seat and put the glass of milk on the table.
"Most people say you never apologize even once. You will never admit your mistake because of pride. Is the rumor wrong?"
"It's half-right and half-true. I will never apologize to a stranger. I owe them nothing. But you are my sister, after all, my family. You took my side, and your presence forced Odin to run away like the bitch he was, that was enough to earn you the good book from me." Titus explained.
"That's it, I understand." Arcueid nodded.
She drank the glass of milk and enjoyed it for a moment, then said, "You know, brother, Altrouge did say you have anger issues, and those anger issues are preventing you from being happy and getting the peace that people always yearn for. Why is this?"
"Not only me, but Altrouge also has anger issues, and you too, sister. Perhaps you don't see it now, but in the future, when you have someone that you hate, then you will." Titus chuckled. Of course, what he said was true. Arcueid in the canon timeline indeed had anger issues. Roa being killed over and over again was evidence of her vindictiveness, to the point she would kill his vessel even if Roa had not inhabited it yet.
In the canon timeline, Roa indeed forced Arcueid to kill her own race and clan, deceived her to suck his blood for his own end, and made himself immortal, which made Arcueid hate him. For the rest of the story, he didn't watch it. He didn't like the pussy named Shiki Tohno. This Tohno dude's a total beta, which made him never finish the Tsukihime anime.
"Is that so? Why did I never know about it?" Arcueid was confused by her brother's statement about her having anger issues.
"Seeing the flaws in others is indeed easy, but how about your own flaws, sister? It's harder. That's why there are many hypocrites in this world. They perceive other people's weaknesses, but they never see how rotten they are inside. At least I acknowledge my flaws instead of pretending that I don't and justifying myself." Titus stroked his sister's hair softly as he explained.
"Enough with the heavy topics, sister. Let's enjoy our drink, shall we?"
"Uhm..." Arcueid nodded.
"Yeah, I want to drink more milk."
