Looking around himself, Luke could see many options but most of them seemed to be greyed out for some reason, as if he was not allowed to see them. The number of options in total were staggering but after a few seconds of counting, he was only able to make out there were exactly five choices that he was able to pick from out of the hundreds that were actually there.
His choices were survival, power, love, wealth with the last one saying hide.
Looking at the options, two of them were self explanatory. He thought of himself as a fairly intelligent person. Ignoring his academic success though, love and wealth clearly meant that if he made the choice of love, he would eventually find true love as for wealth, he would be able to make a lot of money although the exact amount could not be known yet.
The next option that did make the most sense to himself, was that of power. The kind of power though was not clear it could mean personal strength, or the power of people under him.
It was the last two options that were the most confusing for him. Survival and hide. Yes, their meanings did make sense. But as he looked at the two it was how they would work that did not make sense to him. For example, hiding was a way to survive but clearly in this case it was not.
And surviving well, it meant he would be able to survive. Looking at the words again, he could not help but become transfixed onto the word survive. No matter, since he had come here, to this cursed place.
He only wanted to leave.
Leave.
But to leave he would have to be alive and well to be alive, it would mean that he would have to survive. Looking at the words, one more time he took a deep and heavy breath, trying to stop his shaking hands. And walked forwards and tapped the survive option.
Secretly happy that no one could see what he was doing now, as if someone could, they would almost definitely be laughing at his actions, before then cutting him down he thought morbidly.
Focusing back onto all of the words, he watched as they were all sucked in, and instead it morphed into an arrow that was pointing to his left. Looking in that direction he could not see much, due to the woodland that was in that direction. Then, just as he was thinking what he should do next, the voice once again sharply ripped through his mind.
"You have chosen to survive. It is a wise choice I must say. Your guest will arrive soon. Good
Luck Pioneer."
Then it left, not long before a brand new screen appeared before him.
*Quest: Head south-east and find the fabled academy. Here you will learn what you need, to truly survive.*
The quest then vanished just as it had suddenly appeared much like the voice which seemed to be the only connection that he had to his home.
Thinking of his home, he stopped for a moment and looked back down at the ground. It was a much nicer place compared to where he had ended up here. It was warmer too, he was from the countryside. But it was more rolling farmlands, a warm summer sun. The gentle breeze. It was a truly nice place.
Coming back to his senses slowly, he could feel a tear rolling down his face.
This led to a soft sigh escaping from Luke.
He had by some miracle been able to quickly adapt to the situation that he had been thrown into, but all of the same it was not something that he wanted. And by whatever God that was worshipped in the place that he had ended up in. He truly wished that he had never got to see a battlefield again. That was horrifying, disgusting and well he truly would never be able to kill someone. He knew that from the depth of his heart.
Looking up, he was able to see that the arrow that had formed was still there, and going by the words of the guest, he just assumed that it was pointing in the direction that he had to go. Hopefully he thought to himself it was not pointing north. That would cause him so many problems.
That thought, is the last proper one that he had as he checked over everything that he had been able to gather from his raid all over the camp, which he had now done twice over. Gathering as much food and water as he could, as well as what looked like to him as some kind of coins. He did not really know how much it would be worth, but hopefully it would be enough for him to get by until he reached the academy that he was trying to go to.
Then, he left walking through the woods and up a slope towards his destination.
Unbeknownst to him however, such scenes were happening all over the world that he had found himself on. The being that had sent them all there, to this new world could see it all.
But there was no smile on his face, only a grimace and trace of worry in its golden eyes. This being was one of the strongest things in existence and yet it was worried fully. Its goal was balance and to give the people of worlds set for a destruction a chance to live on.
But this new world, Earth as it was called by its inhabitants, did not seem ready for this world. Maybe a few hundred years ago it would have gone well. But the so-called modern world did not seem ready.
Looking at the world one more time, and all of the pioneers he had set forth. He sighed a little before setting the system to automate the process. He had many worlds to offer salvation to, he could not lose track or else who knows how many trillions of beings would lose their lives.
On Earth however, something different was happening. The planet had experienced the shock of its life, with 10 million people exactly dropping down to the ground losing all form of consciousness for no reason whatsoever, the only thing in common with them all was their age range, and that they collapsed at the exact same time…
