章 3: Time skip

Time passed quickly. Levi turned 12 a few days ago and was about to start his new stage as a middle school student.

He managed to enter Shuchi'in Academy, a school with a very good reputation and difficult access.

When Levi learned of the name of this academy it became known to him, but he could not remember from where.

This school is generally for the rich. The children of politicians, millionaires, families with importance in the world, actors, and occasionally middle-class people like Levi get in.

Something that helped this school get Levi's attention was that he won first place on the national test called the "Scholastic Academic Aptitude Test" which is administered to school-age students, usually in the last year of elementary school (sixth grade), and the first year of high school (seventh grade), that is, around 12-13 years of age.

Even so, once Shuchi'in Academy allowed him to study in its prestigious grounds, he had to pass the entrance exam provided by this school, which Levi managed to pass with the maximum grade.

In this way he managed to get this Academy to give him a scholarship since his parents could not afford it even though they belong to the middle class, proving how expensive it is.

As a person who reincarnated the exams were not difficult for Levi, besides being a preteen earning money was almost impossible, so he decided to get the best grades for his parents to give him a reward in the form of money. A kind of allowance, but improved thanks to his school performance.

Shuchi'in Academy is for rich people, but Levi doesn't mind this, he just uses it so that his parents reward him with more money to be able to buy manga in the store as soon as possible.

Although he could recreate his favorite manga, since he read them several times he would miss many details, and it wouldn't be as majestic as the original, so using the store is the best option. In addition, you can bring manga that you read only once and remember almost nothing of its plot or even manga that you did not read, although these would be a riskier investment.

His sister's academic situation was very different, even though she was already 16 years old and in her last year of preparatory school, her grades were at rock bottom, making her parents angry. They were worried about her uncertain future and that she would not be able to go to any renowned university.

So his parents, seeing Levi's excellent performance, spoiled him even more.

In this way, the money he earned thanks to his grades saved it to be able to buy some manga shortly and start his successful path as a mangaka in this world.

"Well done son. Today, you will start high school at the prestigious Shuchi'in Academy," said Levi's father with a proud smile.

His father's name was Takeshi.

"Yes, yes you are a great example to follow. Not only did you make it into Shuchi'in, you got in as the valedictorian of the first year," said Levi's mother as she caressed Levi's face with tenderness and pride.

His mother's name was Emiko.

"I can still improve. I will give my best effort," said Levi with a slightly humble smile, asking for more money internally.

To earn money nowadays, the best way was to act like the perfect son so that his parents would be happy and give him more and more money as a reward, for this reason, he acted this way.

In Japan and most of the first world countries children were forbidden to work, and their maximum responsibilities were school.

Their parents smiled even more when they heard this. At this time the reward Levi asked them for was money, at first they saw it strange that a child would ask for money as a reward and never spend it, but when they saw that he had the best grades in his school they did not give it any more importance. Besides, what better than a son who from a young age knows how to save.

"Oh look the great genius of Tokyo is about to start school," said a voice in a sarcastic tone. This was his sister Rin, who had just come down from her room to start her last year of preparatory school.

She called him the genius of Tokyo because Levi had won several academic competitions in recent years.

Like Levi, his sister had very handsome features. And she could be considered a great beauty on par with Ai or her daughter Ruby.

She has long wavy grayish-brown hair, which she wears tied in two pigtails with some black ribbons. She was now wearing her school uniform which consisted of a white shirt with a red tie, a red skirt, and long black stockings.

Takeshi and Emiko seeing Rin frowned, not because they wouldn't love her, but because of all the trouble this troublesome daughter was bringing them, "Why are you wearing such a short skirt?" asked Emiko, noticing Rin's skirt.

"Mother we are in the 21st Century isn't your thinking very old?" asked Rin with a slight smile.

"Don't talk to your mother like that. Today, you start your last year of high school. You better give importance to your studies or you won't be able to go to a good University," said Takeshi with a frown and a worried tone.

"I'm not going to university. I'm going to be an idol! I don't know how many times I've told them," Rin replied, angrily as she walked towards the door.

'Do all the pretty girls in this manga want to become Idols?' thought Levi with a barely noticeable grimace.

"Again with that unrealistic dream! You must see the reality, if you are not successful in being an idol what will you do? Will you die of hunger? Or will you depend on your little brother to support you?" said Emiko in a repressive tone.

Rin hearing this stopped for a second, her gaze was furious, though her parents and Levi couldn't see her as her back was turned to them.

After a few seconds, she kept walking and left the house, when she closed the door she slammed it very loudly.

The atmosphere inside the house became uncomfortably quiet, "Ugh... it's always the same," sighed Takeshi as he grabbed his forehead.

His sister since she was a little girl was a big fan of Ai. She was the main idol that made Rin want to become one. When her death was announced, she cried and was sad for a long time. She was just a little girl, and it was not nice to have your idol killed.

Levi when he saw the news of Ai's murder, he was a little sad because even though he knew about it he couldn't do anything. He didn't let this affect him and went on with his life and his dream.

"He will come to his senses at some point," Emiko said with a frown. Then she looked towards Levi, and her frown disappeared for a kind and proud smile, "You shouldn't follow in your sister's footsteps, keep striving in your studies," Emiko said as she hugged Levi.

"Yes, mother. Don't worry," Levi said in a happy tone as he hugged his mother back, you could see he had some sweat on his forehead.

'If I tell her that I want to be the best mangaka in the world, how will she react?' Levi thought as he kept smiling warmly.

In Japan they took the education of their children very seriously from an early age, wanting to go out of the norm was something very difficult, since your parents and society would not agree and want you to follow a certain route.

However, Levi is not too worried about this, before he could buy and draw a manga it would be a few years as he still didn't have enough money. And when his parents see the hundreds of millions that his manga sells, what will they be able to say?

With the manga store, he knows that success is only a matter of time, he just has to stay focused on making money, as his drawing skills are still intact and improving.

"Since it's your first day I'll drive you to school let's go," Takeshi said with a smile as he grabbed the car keys. Levi nodded and said goodbye to his mother, who gave him a tight hug.

Unlike his sister's school, Shuchi'in Academy was much farther from his home. So, he was thankful that his father drove him there and did not have to take crowded public transportation.

Public transport is what corrupts the human being, or so Levi thought.

In his previous life, his job was to draw, and he could do it from the comfort of his home thanks to the internet and the PC, so one of the things he hated was riding public transportation whether it was trains, subways, or crowded buses.

'I must buy a bike,' Levi thought. He knew that this would be the first and almost last time his father would take him to school, so after that, he would have to ride public transportation.
