章 2: 2

Irene blinked, disoriented as the light faded. One moment, she had been enveloped in the goddess's warm embrace, and the next, she found herself standing on unfamiliar ground. She looked around, trying to make sense of her surroundings. The air was thick with salt and the noise of bustling activity.

"Where am I?" she murmured to herself, taking in the strange island. The buildings were tall and weathered, with an air of history about them. As she walked, the murmur of a crowd grew louder, drawing her toward the center of the town.

Rounding a corner, Irene found herself in a large town square. A crowd had gathered, drawn by the promise of witnessing history in the making. Among them stood pirates, marines, and civilians alike, all eager to witness the end of an era and the birth of a legend.

In the center of the square, a large wooden platform had been erected, surrounded by throngs of people. Marines stood at attention, their faces stern, as the crowd buzzed with anticipation. At the heart of it all stood the execution scaffold, a grim reminder of the fate that awaited the man who had captured the world's imagination.

The crowd parted as a procession made its way through the streets. Chains clinked with each step, echoing like a death knell. At the center of the procession, flanked by stern-faced Marines, was Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King. His presence commanded awe; even in chains, his spirit seemed unbroken. His eyes, sharp and clear, surveyed the crowd with a mixture of amusement and defiance.

Irene watched, mesmerized, as Roger ascended the steps to the scaffold. A hush fell over the crowd. The executioners, grim-faced and resolute, stood ready. Roger was pushed to his knees, and the crowd leaned in, as if one breathless entity, eager to catch every word of the man whose life had been a symphony of adventure and defiance.

A voice rang out from the throng, desperate and curious. "Pirate King! Where is it? Where is the One Piece?"

A knowing smile played on Roger's lips. His voice, strong and clear, cut through the silence. "My wealth and treasures? If you want it, I'll let you have it. Search for it! I left everything in that place!"

The crowd erupted into chaos. Shouts and cries of excitement filled the air as the dream of countless pirates was given life. The era of the great pirate hunt had begun with those words, sparking a flame that would burn in the hearts of adventurers across the seas.

With a final, calm glance at the horizon, Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, met his fate. The executioners moved swiftly, and in an instant, the life of the most notorious pirate in history came to an end. Blood stained the wooden scaffold, and the crowd stood in stunned silence, absorbing the gravity of what had just transpired.

As the chaos of the execution faded into the background, Irene found herself wandering aimlessly through the unfamiliar streets of the island. An hour had passed, yet she still felt lost, both in this new world and in the swirling thoughts that consumed her mind.

Lost in her thoughts, Irene pondered the weight of the goddess's words. Her firstborn would be the reincarnation of Erza, with memories and powers intact. But what path would she choose for herself in this world? How would she navigate the complexities of motherhood and the pursuit of happiness?

Inspired by Gol D. Roger's words, echoing in her mind, Irene found herself contemplating the meaning of freedom and destiny. Would she follow in Roger's footsteps, embracing the life of a pirate and seeking adventure on the high seas? Or would she carve her own path, forging a new destiny for herself and her daughter?

Lost in her musings, Irene rounded a corner and collided with a figure, sending them both stumbling backward. As she regained her balance, she looked up to see a man standing before her, his face obscured by a bright red clown nose. Tears streamed down his cheeks, and his shoulders shook with sobs.

"Are you alright?" Irene asked, concern flickering in her voice as she reached out to steady him.

The man sniffled, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "I-I'm sorry," he stammered, his voice choked with emotion. "I didn't mean to bump into you. It's just... it's been a rough day."

Irene studied him curiously, her own troubles momentarily forgotten. "Is there anything I can do to help?" she offered, her voice gentle.

The man looked up at her, his eyes red-rimmed and watery. "I... I don't know," he admitted, his voice trembling. "I've lost something very important to me"

A pang of empathy tugged at Irene's heart as she listened to the man's words. She understood what it meant to lose something precious, to feel adrift in a world that seemed determined to swallow you whole.

"Tell me what happened," Irene said softly, offering him a reassuring smile. "Maybe I can help."

"It's futile he's departed this world. I'm bereft of direction," the man lamented.

"My condolences," Irene responded. "I am Irene. And you are?"

"Buggy," he uttered.

Abruptly, a man adorned with a straw hat approached, inquiring if Buggy aspired to join him in piracy. Buggy declined, and the man's attention shifted to Irene. "Greetings, I'm Shanks. Would you like to become my crewmate?" he posed with a grin.

"Irene is my name, and I must decline," she replied, mirroring his smile.

"Very well, should you reconsider, the seas await," Shanks declared, departing from Loguetown in search of his crewmates.
