章 177: Starting a Fire

The trip from Ghost City to Lake City was more comfortable for Leila because she was with Xavier. He made arrangements on her behalf and carried her luggage. It was a good feeling to have someone care for her. 

When they arrived in Lake City, Xavier picked up her suitcase and held her hand as if he feared she would be dragged away or lost. Leila wanted to tell him that she was not a child and could walk by herself. 

However, she decided not to say anything because he looked quite serious.

She also liked the feeling of his hand circling hers. It felt comforting in a strange way. She did not know how his hand had a certain coolness while maintaining a warmth that seemed to reach her heart. 

Her lips curved into a small smile. Coincidentally, Xavier looked at her at that moment. In the light of day, his features seemed a little gentler, especially his light brown eyes. However, he was still the same breathtaking creature.
