One can live a long life by improving one's rank but has to deal with a lot of family members. I mean every year a few new relatives are added through birth or marriage. If a person was able to live for a hundred years or in many cases three hundred years, it means that they would have a lot of relatives.

Many would be connected through marriages that happened a long ago.
