A part of Benjamin had always thought that his boss, Zoren, had this strange jealousy toward him — if that was even the right word. Initially, he thought Zoren was sending him away because he didn't want Benjamin to know about his relationship with Penny. But even after Benjamin learned about his boss and Penny's relationship, something still felt off.
Zoren kept sending Benjamin away, especially when Penny came to the office. Even on regular occasions when Zoren would come home, Benjamin noticed the shift. Before Penny, Benjamin would always drop Zoren off, but now, Zoren would send him elsewhere.
"You… like… who?"
"Uh…" Benjamin opened and closed his mouth, feeling a strange sense of dread creeping up his spine. His eyes shook, studying the shadow cast across Zoren's face.
This didn't feel good.
"Miss Penny," he muttered under his breath, eyes fixed on Zoren. "Would I die if I jumped out of the window?"
