Atlas didn't stay long, telling the officers who arrived at the scene that he had other matters to attend to. After filing a police report, he left with the driver.

"Are you okay?" Atlas asked, gazing at the man in the driver's seat.

The middle-aged driver let out an airy laugh while nodding. "Yes, sir. I was just shocked by what happened, but I'm okay."

"I'm sorry that happened."

"It's not your fault, sir," the driver said with a subtle smile. "I'm just glad nothing bad happened to us. If that SUV had crashed into us…"

The driver trailed off, stopping abruptly, not wanting to think about what could have happened to him and Atlas. They didn't need to guess; just the speed of the SUV alone would have cost them their lives. If not for the other car crashing into the SUV, stopping it, and tossing it off the road, that would have been their fate.
