章 105: You're not the only one who's been holding back

Valerie looked at Max who was backing her at the door and tilted her head.

"Wasn't there someone at the door?" She asked as she approached him. "I thought I heard you talking to someone."

She reached for the door handle but he immediately caught her hand and pulled her away from the door.

He made her sit on the bed while he went to get a towel and started cleaning her hair thoroughly.

"I didn't know you were such a careless person." He said. "You're still sick, yet you come out with little to nothing on and you leave your hair wet. It's like you're hoping to catch a cold."

"Oh, I didn't think of that." She said and finally looked up to see Max with a flushed face. "What's wrong with your face?" She asked. "Are you sick as well?"

Max gritted his teeth. Was she doing this on purpose or was she just oblivious to how she looked?
