章 97: Pay Ross Corp a visit

Max was hoping he'd be able to see Valerie after over a week of separation at the execution site but when he got there, she was absent.

He took out his phone and dialed her number. After a few rings, she picked up.

"Where are you?" Max asked, looking around if he had missed her by chance.

"I'm still at the office." Valerie said and suddenly coughed, causing him to furrow his eyebrows.

"What was that? Are you sick?" He asked but she shook her head and said,

"Nothing like that. I just feel parched." She said, but that did not make him any less worried.

"What's that assistant of yours doing? If you're parched, you should drink something." He said and sighed, reliving his angry tone. "Anyway, you should take care of yourself." He said. "Getting sick will do neither of us good."

"I know that." She said and coughed once more.

He wasn't comfortable with this.
