The front two vampires drop abruptly as Blade pulls the trigger of his guns, their heads exploding from the impact. I know that normal bullets hardly affect vampires; even bullet holes and severed limbs do little to deter them.
So seeing the two vampires die instantly makes it clear that Blade is using silver bullets. According to Elsa, silver and garlic are like Kryptonite to vampires.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
To my surprise, the vampires on the second floor whip out their own guns and open fire on Blade from above.
With lightning speed, Blade darts to the side, evading their bullets while returning fire. I raise my hands towards the second floor, white flames swirling in my palms as I conjure two basketball-sized fireballs. With some effort, I launch the fireballs toward the left and right sides simultaneously.
As they soar through the air, under my precise control the fireballs gets split up into twenty smaller projectiles, each one striking the vampires still shooting at Blade.
"AAAAAAAHHHH!!!" The vampires scream in unison, their excruciating pain halting their attacks as they are engulfed by my holy flames. My fiery display has made me the center of attention, even drawing a glance from Blade as he fights off his own attackers.
The dozens of vampires who were moments away from charging at me, now shift their focus back to me, rushing toward me in a frenzy. Aware of their unnatural strength and speed, I have already resolved to avoid close combat.
[Vampires: 505 | Humans: 47]
My mind processes the chaotic environment at lightning speed, allowing me to anticipate the next moves of the superhumanly fast vampires.
As I back away toward the seating area, I form another fireball in my hands and hurl it at the fifteen blood-soaked vampires charging at me.
WOOSH!
The fireball breaks apart into fifteen smaller flames that fly straight at them. I watch as five of the vampires easily evade the white-hot fireballs, their superhuman speed giving them an edge.
"AAAAAHHHH!! IT BURRRRRNNNS!" The remaining vampires scream as the flames engulf them, their pain echoing in the air. Even the evaded fireballs were angled by me in such a way that they crash into the bigger crowd of vampires behind, burning more of them.
With five furious vampires still barreling toward me, I take a step back, positioning my left foot behind me as I crouch slightly forward, entering the Iaijutsu stance.
Focusing my energy, a beautiful silver katana materializes in my hands, crafted from the blueprint stored in my mind through my Data Warping powers.
With the silver hilt gripped firmly, I draw the katana swiftly. The effects of the NZT pill kick in, and the myriad lessons learned from Colleen sensei flood my mind, outlining the most effective attack patterns to follow.
I take a step forward, the sharp edge of my silver sword slicing effortlessly through the necks of two vampires, as if they were offering themselves to me.
Another step, and the blade arcs gracefully through the necks of two more vampires.
SLASH! CUT! SWOOSH!
"Ughhhh!!" With both hands on the hilt, I plunge the sword into the fifth vampire's neck, halting him in his tracks. A swift swipe separates his head from his body, and I sheathe my still clean blade.
Made entirely of silver, my katana, coupled with the method of decapitation, proves to be a surefire way to eliminate them. In mere moments, I have ended the lives of five vampires.
[Vampires: 480 | Humans: 46]
Seeing the large crowd of vampires before me, I realize that while my silver sword is effective against them, it's not the most efficient choice in this situation.
The majority of the vampires are fixated on Blade, their behaviour erratic and frenzied, as if they have lost their minds. My guess is the fresh human blood from the blood bath has made them this crazy.
The humans in the crowd stand in a daze, only some of them fearfully attempting to escape the clutches of the vampires. To the undead, they are little more than playthings—fragile and helpless. The vampires could snap them in half at any moment, yet they choose to toy with their victims, indulging in the thrill of the hunt even amidst the chaos.
With determination, I raise my hands and concentrate, tapping into my power of Forcefield Manipulation. A shimmering barrier envelops each living human, my Focus allowing me to pinpoint their heat signatures even in the dense throng of bodies.
Given the overwhelming number of targets, the individual barriers aren't particularly strong; they merely separate the humans from the nearby vampires, granting them a moment of respite. Just as I prepare to push the barriers aside to take them to safety, something unexpected catches my eye.
"Die, you fucking Daywalker!" The DJ on the second floor suddenly brandishes a rocket launcher, aiming a rocket directly at Blade, who is being cornered by the other vampires.
Reacting quickly, Blade leaps over a vampire's head and kicks off the wall, propelling himself further from the impending danger.
Though Blade narrowly avoids the rocket, I notice that three normal humans are still in the blast radius. Without hesitation, I focus on the projectile and channel my power: Psychokinesis.
This power, a gift from Sybil, has evolved. While I once struggled to control softer objects, I now find myself able to manipulate even harder ones.
Instead of halting the rocket, I redirect it in a swift arc back towards the DJ. Surprise flickers across his face as he sees the missile hurtling back in his direction. He scrambles to jump down from the upper floor.
BOOOM!
The rocket explodes where he just stood, but the place is now empty. Now on the ground, the DJ locks eyes with me as he tumbles in front of the entrance. "Kill that son of a—"
BANG!!
His head bursts open like a watermelon, showering the area in a gruesome display. Behind his fallen body, I am delighted to spot a hot redhead.
"How could you Bloodsuckers not invite me to such an exciting party?" Elsa smirks, blasting another vampire's head clean off with her gun.
These are the same weapons she keeps tucked away in her guitar case. She had already loaded each one with silver bullets so she was perfectly prepped for her hunt.
BAM!
Using the butt of her rifle like a baseball bat, she knocks another vampire's head clean off with ease. "Bloody hell, there are a lot of you! Guess this will be a good workout for me!" she exclaims, her excitement shining through.
Blade glances at her for a moment before returning to his relentless assault, emptying round after round into the heads of approaching vampires.
I, however, have no time to focus on them as a massive crowd of vampires is surging towards me.
My hand ignites in the familiar white flames as I conjure big fireballs in front of me. With my enhanced vision, I notice that the advancing crowd appears more cautious this time, wary of my fiery attacks.
A small smile creeps across my face as I hurl a fireball at the oncoming horde. Just as it nears them, it vanishes abruptly.
"What the—?" The rushing vampires seem momentarily confused, but before they can process the situation, they are struck by the hidden fireballs. The white flames engulf them, eliciting horrified screams. "AGHHHHH!! FUCKK! HOWW??!!"
They are bewildered, unaware that I have used my Invisibility power to cloak the fireballs, rendering my attacks stealthy and undodgeable.
[Vampires: 450 | Humans: 46]
Yet, despite my efforts, it feels as though an entire army of vampires is standing before me, and most are now actively turning their attention towards me.
The scene reminds me of a pack of hyenas circling a lone lion in the jungle. "At least they know who the Apex Predator here is," I say with a cruel smile, the metallic scent of blood filling my lungs as my hands ignite once more in white flames.
"Let me show you what happens when you challenge the Apex!"

"Hisss!! Just fucking DIE!!"
SWISH! CUT!
"Haah... Haah..." I take heavy breaths as I decapitate yet another vampire with my Silver Katana.
[Vampires: 200 | Humans: 42]
It has been nearly twenty minutes, and the ground around me is littered with the charred remains of vampires. I have stopped using my Holy Fire Magic, as it's draining my stamina far too quickly. Especially considering how I had to keep Radiant shield, Electric Aura, Clairvoyance and the Forcefield barrier active all the time.
BANG! BAM!
"Ha ha! This feels therapeutic! There's nothing better than crushing some vampire skulls!" Elsa exclaims, smirking as she blasts one vampire's head with her rifle before smashing another's skull in with the butt of her weapon.
Despite the intensity of the fight, she still seems full of energy. However, my keen eye catches the red gem on her choker shining brightly, and how her attacks are becoming increasingly reckless. Thankfully, my Forcefield bracelet appears to be holding up, protecting her from any serious injuries so far.
I am positioned on the left side of the entrance, and Elsa is on the right, while a massive crowd of vampires is gathered nearby. Behind me, the rescued humans are huddled in the seating area, some in a daze, others watching in shock and fear. A few had attempted to escape towards the entrance, but their fates were grim.
CUT! SWISH!
On the other side, Blade is halfway up the stairs. His silver bullets seem to have run out, forcing him to rely on his silver sword. By taking the stairs, he has managed to limit the number of vampires he faces at once.
When a large group of them attempts to swarm me, I unleash the white Holy flames, making them retreat in fear. But I know I need to act quickly to eliminate them all; the longer this drags on, the more unpredictable the situation becomes.
Now that only vampires remain in the crowd, I can unleash a large-scale attack without hesitation. Stepping back from the horde, I hurl a wave of white holy flames onto the bloody ground, creating a small firewall that sends them retreating in fear.
Taking a deep breath, I concentrate, letting my Clairvoyance expand to encompass the entire room. I can 'see' each vampire as if they were right in front of me, I can even feel the floor beneath my shoes—beneath the blood and water, the tiles, the concrete; I can 'see' it all.
With unwavering focus, I activate my power, Data Warping. Starting with the tiles beneath me, they begin to shimmer with a silvery hue—I have transformed the tile into silver.
But this is just the beginning. The adjacent tiles follow suit, and then the next, as I keep pushing my powers to their limits. Yet, despite using Chi Manipulation to recover, such extensive transformation isn't easy, especially given my fatigue.
Closing my eyes, I dig deep and tap into a newfound power. Golden arcs of lightning erupt from my body, flooding me with an overwhelming surge of energy. All traces of exhaustion vanish as I open my eyes, as Golden Lightning seems to dance in them.
I raise my hands and instantly the entire floor turns to silver. In this moment, gazing at the blood-soaked vampires before me, I recall how every superhero in the comics has their named attacks.
"Get back, El!" I shout, invoking another power: Metal Manipulation.
"Impaling Spikes of Doom!" I declare, drawing forth more of the golden lightning within me as it swirls behind my back, gathering into illusory wings.
SWOOSH! SWOOOSH! SWOOOSH!
Under my control of Metal Manipulation, large spikes of silver erupt from the ground, transforming the entire floor into a deadly trap. The spikes impale each vampire, piercing through their feet and driving straight to their heads, not missing a single target as my attack decimates the crowd of Vampires.
[Vampires: 30 | Humans: 42]
"AAAAAAGHHHHH!!" Some vampires are fortunate enough to escape with only their hands or legs caught in the spikes, while the remaining ones on the stairs still cling to life.
The room falls eerily silent, save for the anguished screams of the impaled vampires, echoing throughout, as the bloodied floor turns into a graveyard of silver thorns. The vampires fighting Blade pause, their expressions shifting to fear as they look towards me.
"Wow, bloody hell mate! This is like a Vampire Sheesh Kabab!" Elsa exclaims, running her hand along the shimmering spikes before her.
BANG! BANG!
Suddenly, Blade pulls out his guns again, targeting the vampires frozen in shock. I realize he still must have some bullets left.
As I maintain the energy from the Lightning Wings power and Metal Manipulation, I begin to feel a strain on my mind.
I retract the spikes back into the ground and use Data Warping to revert the floor to its original state, which surprisingly feels much easier to do than expected. Taking a deep breath, I let go of the golden lightning and nearly stumble to my knees as a wave of dizziness washes over me.
"Take a breather, mate. I will finish off the stragglers," Elsa grins, beginning to stomp on the heads of the few remaining vampires.
"Haa … thanks" I reply, sitting on the blood-soaked floor as I focus on regulating my breathing. I activate Chi Manipulation, circulating chi throughout my body to recover my lost stamina.
In just a few minutes, both Elsa and Blade have eliminated all the vampires. After regaining my breath, I stand up and approach the 'Daywalker', who is still wearing his sunglasses and checking the necks of the frightened survivors.
"I am Apex. Thanks for your help with this vampire problem earlier," I say as I near him. The name "Apex" had come to me just moments ago, and it fits this anti-hero persona I have embraced.
"I'm Blade," he replies in a gruff voice, glancing at me.
"Are you checking for vampire bites?" I ask curiously.
"They have all been bitten, and many won't survive the night. I need to handle the ones on the brink of death; otherwise, they will turn into monsters," Blade states seriously as he draws his silver sword, focusing on a man lying unconscious on the floor.
"N-no! Please spare us!" a voice trembles from the crowd, and many back away in fear.
"Wait! I have some healing supplies. I might be able to save them," I say hurriedly, retrieving my small First Aid kit from my Utility Belt. I examine the man's condition and realize he is suffering from severe blood loss. In fact, most of the crowd seems to share similar afflictions, with only some individuals missing arms or suffering grave injuries.
As I work, I notice the survivors whispering among themselves, their fear palpable. None of them have cell phones; I suspect the vampires ensured that they were stripped of any means to discover the abnormality of this club.
Using a combination of Phoenix Magic, Chi Healing, and my supplies, I begin to heal them, hoping to bring some measure of relief to their dire situation.
Blade, observing my skillful handling of the survivors' wounds, keeps a watchful eye on the crowd to ensure no one causes trouble. Just then, Elsa approaches, carrying her guitar case, likely having stowed her guns inside.
"Let me introduce you; she is El—" I begin, but are interrupted.
"I know. She's a Bloodstone," Blade replies, his voice low and guarded as he narrows his eyes at Elsa, tensing as if bracing for a fight.
"See? I told you I'm famous around here," Elsa says with a grin. Her nonchalant demeanour seems to ease Blade's tension a little, though he still keeps his hand near his weapons.
"Infamous, more like," I chuckle.
"It is all the same. By the way, I know that vampires are like weeds—if you take your eyes off them for even a second, they will multiply in mass. But I have never seen so many gathered in one place before. Don't you think so, 'Blade'?" Elsa asks, curiosity lighting her eyes.
"This is definitely not normal," Blade replies, furrowing his brow as he strides toward the entrance.
"Maybe we should work together to figure out wh—" I start, but he cuts me off.
"I work alone," Blade says, stopping at the entrance. "Don't worry; even if there are thousands more, I'll pull out every single one of these weeds." He turns to me, flashing a wide smile, showing off his white teeth.
"Take care of yourself, 'Apex!'" he says, waving as he heads out.
"Don't take him too seriously; he's just a vampire-hunting fanatic," Elsa remarks with a wry smile.
"Yeah, I figured that out," I reply, returning to treat the injured while opening a compartment in my Utility Belt to release a Bio-probe.
Under my guidance, Elsa begins stacking piles of vampire bodies. Once I finish healing the survivors, I allow them to leave. Despite being covered in blood from the earlier bloodbath, they hurriedly escape, carrying those who can't move.
I feel a twinge of uncertainty about letting them go in such a state, but Elsa reassures me that they will be fine. Then, using my Holy Fire Magic, I incinerate the vampire corpses. While I had considered taking a couple of the bodies for research, I decide that taking back a functioning one would be a better choice.
Even a small flame proves sufficient to consume the piles of vampire remains. The Holy Fire burns brighter and more fiercely, leaping from one corpse to the next.
As Elsa watches the spectacle with fascination, I head towards the restroom. Opening the door, I am surprised to find it empty!
Racquel is nowhere in sight, and even her fitted black dress lies discarded on the floor. Besides this door, the only other exit is a small ventilator shaft on the ceiling.
I begin to piece together how she might have escaped and I return to Elsa, feeling a bit disappointed at having lost the chance to 'interrogate' her further.
As the last of the vampire corpses turns to ash, Elsa and I head upstairs into the club, which is eerily abandoned—no one remains in sight. Either Blade scared everyone away, or they fled in response to the chaos.
I retrieve my sports car from the garage, and as we pull away from the club, the sharp wail of police sirens suddenly pierces the air, echoing from the very place we had just left.
