Rose tried to listen to Catherine speaking to the ladies but she was worried about Paige and the guest she was sending off in the carriage. She knew that it was invite only so they wouldn't have random women showing up but the guest was here and Paige seemed to be close to the young woman. Was it someone who would ruin the day or were they just sticking to the invite-only rule? 

Catherine and Paige shouldn't expect Rose not to be curious. Catherine returned to Rose's side with a smile but she noticed that Catherine seemed very upset by what Paige did, like there was more to Paige bringing someone who wasn't invited. 

'If only Mary was out here to tell me who it was,' Rose thought.

Having enough of worrying about what was already dealt with, Rose focused on the three women ahead of her who seemed equally curious as she was about them.
