章 4: Chapter 4: The World Occult Association and the Twins

Mathew's POV

"Is it true, Mathew? You broke your part of the contract?" the girls question with a serious expression.

"Uh... Yes, but in my defense, you're demons, so it's logical that you're used to scamming and being scammed, right?" I say nervously, trying to keep my calm.

There was a silence between the girls and me.

"Hahaha" The sound of laughter brought us out of our staring contest.

"Why are you laughing?" I ask, frowning.

"Haha, you're incredible. I've never seen or heard of a human who managed to break a contract with a demon," he says, trying to contain his laughter.

"But on top of that, you tried to scam them? You're an incredible kid," he declares, patting my shoulder.

"If you found that funny, then are you in the mood to help me?" I say, smiling nervously.

"Haha, you never stop, do you? Did you take me for an angel??" he says, laughing.

These words annoyed me but made me realize that he's a demon, so I wouldn't get anything for free from him.

"We'll have to kill Mathew," the demons declare simultaneously, slowly approaching me.

"Wait, wait a minute, I'm still under contract with you," I say quickly, pointing at the astral chains on their wrists.

"The kid is right. Currently, you can't kill him," declares the goat-like demon, nodding thoughtfully.

"It seems you didn't just try to scam them, but you actually succeeded in doing so," he says, giving me a victory sign.

After this incident, I had lost all desire to visit hell and asked the girls to take me back to Earth.

I prefer to avoid the underworld for now, and inadvertently, I've damaged my relationships with my precious allies.

"The only good news in this story is that I got this guy's business card," I say, looking at the business card with an invocation circle.

According to him, I can use it to be summoned to a bar in hell.

It seems he likes me, but I don't trust him. As he so aptly put it, in hell, he's not an angel but a demon above all.

"I feel like I won't easily obtain mystical knowledge from hell," I say to no one in particular, sighing.

I spent the rest of the day training to improve my control over flames and trying to fly faster with my levitation.

...

Unknown POV

"This is where there are traces of an opening to hell," Jean declares, observing the surroundings with a frown.

"Yes, whoever did this is certainly a beginner on the path of occultism," I say, observing the ground.

There were burn marks and also traces of infernal breath from hell.

The person who played apprentice sorcerer is either a beginner or an extremely confident sorcerer; he didn't bother to hide his activities here.

"I hope for his sake he didn't make a contract with a demon, otherwise he'll have to be eliminated," my colleague declares, taking a cigarette.

Demons, a race of astral beings from a parallel dimension better known as "hell."

According to our intelligence, most of them are former humans or damned souls who have become "demons," but of course, there are pure demons born there.

They have the peculiarity of traveling to parallel lands to obtain souls for various purposes, but generally it's for something bad.

That's why the World Occult Association takes care of eliminating all cases linked to demons without seeking to take on more, as a security measure.

"Jeff, I think he left not long ago," Jean declares, touching a pillar with still-warm burn marks.

"We'll have to request cooperation from law enforcement," I say in a bad mood.

It seems my words made Jean sigh because of the paperwork to fill out.

It's never good to involve normal people in our problems, but better them than the vegan is thier The Vegan Police .

I hate working with their organization, but sometimes we have to ask for help from other supernatural or normal organizations to save time.

...

Mathew's POV

"Hi Gideon, I see you convinced the twins," I say, smiling.

"We're not entirely convinced yet," one of them declares.

In truth, the original Mathew couldn't tell them apart despite their different hairstyles, so I only knew their names, which are Kyle and Ken Katayanagi.

Personally, I can tell them apart because of memories from my past life, but it's possible I'm in a version of Scott Pilgrim where their names are reversed.

"Don't worry, thanks to me, technology will advance by leaps and bounds," I say, settling into a chair.

"We're only interested in music right now," declares the black-haired twin, crossing his arms.

"I see, all the more reason to give me your technological heritage, namely your knowledge, or even more," I explain to them.

At my words, the two looked at each other before nodding in sync.

"We'll give you books to read and homework. If you can't understand their content and solve your homework, then give up," declares the blond-haired twin.

I nodded to show my agreement. I'm really interested in this world's technology, and if I want to calm my anger towards Ramona one day, I need to improve.

"By the way, do you need a singer?" I ask, smiling.

They looked at each other for a moment before saying simultaneously:

"No," in a curt tone.

It seems I'm asking for too much there.

"I see you managed to convince the twins by yourself, and Lucas currently agrees to help you," Gideon declares after observing us talk all this time without saying anything.

"When do I start in Hollywood?" I ask him.

"Lucas's manager will contact you, she's a lovely woman," he says, passing me two numbers which I assume are Lucas's and his manager's.

"The next time I see you, Gideon, I'll be a different person," I say as I leave.

"I forget, how will I receive the books and homework from the twins?" I ask them.

They just showed their smartphones, and I could see that Gideon had already given them my number; they'll probably email or call me.

"Well, see you later, and I'll be better than you, four-eyes," I say as I leave the room.

"I want to see that," he says quietly behind me, but I didn't pay much attention to his words.

After leaving Gideon and the twins, I spent the day at the gym and waiting for the call from Lucas's manager.

I must say she really took her time.

"Excuse us for the disturbance, but are you Mr. Mathew?" asks a man in a black suit.

"That depends, who do I have the honor of speaking to?" I say, observing the two individuals in front of me.

"I'm not going to beat around the bush, we know you're a practitioner of the occult arts," declares the man at my door.

"Shit..."

Author's Note: Frankly, this story was dead, but I observed that there are still too many people who appreciate it despite me having abandoned it.

In short, I'm picking it up again, but I'm currently focused elsewhere, so the chapters will be updated slowly.
