I looked down, hid my face from them, and stepped back as the guard opened the gate for the car to get inside. But I was stunned when the car stopped right in front of me and the door from the passenger’s seat opened.

“You’re Uno, if I’m not mistaken, right?” Mr. Anderson asked as he got out of the car, letting himself drench from the rain. I nodded, my head still hung down low. “What are you doing here?”

I swallowed the lump in my throat before I spoke. “Sir, I just want to talk to your daughter,” I said, not looking at him.

“Young man, how about you look straight into my eyes while talking to me?” he said, his voice sending chills to my spine.

“I’m sorry, Sir…” I said, my eyes stayed on the ground. “But please, can you just give me a minute to see her?”
