Uno pushed a button and the roof of his car folded itself in half. He kissed my forehead before he started talking.
“I was born in Seoul, Korea.” He took a deep breath. “My family was well off. Everything was good. When I was five, I got a baby sister, and her name was Bella.” I squeezed his arm when I felt him sigh deeply.
“She was beautiful, beautiful like a rainbow that you do not want to take your eyes away from it even in a second. I love her with everything in me. Mom and I loved her so much. The only thing is, she developed Tourette’s syndrome when she was eight. She made involuntary sounds and sometimes yelled out a word or phrase but it was nothing to me and mom. We love her inspite of her problem. But it was, to dad. He didn’t love her. He couldn’t accept he had a daughter as beautiful and adorable as she was. For him, she was a disgrace to our family.”
I scooted closer to him when his voice became shaky.
