Watching TV had lost its charm after the first hour. The morning dragged on, and by the time I glanced at the clock again, I realized it had only been three hours since Carmen left for work.

Boredom seeped into my bones, and I felt a restless energy building up inside me. Sitting around the house was driving me crazy. I needed to get out, clear my head, and maybe find something to distract myself.

Deciding on a change of pace, I headed upstairs to change. I opted for a comfortable yet stylish outfit: a simple white blouse tucked into high-waisted jeans and my favorite pair of sneakers. I pulled my hair into a loose ponytail, grabbed my sunglasses, and headed out the door.
