Morgana joined in, her own magic adding to the assault. The combined force of our attacks pushed against the dark shield, causing it to crack and flicker. I could feel the immense pressure, like trying to hold back a tidal wave with just my hands, but we couldn't let the cloaked figure succeed.
"Almost there!" I shouted, pushing myself to the limit. "Keep going!"
The barrier began to falter, the shadows rippling as if they were being torn apart from within. The Titan roared again, this time in frustration and pain, its massive form writhing under the strain.
"Emily, look out!" Arawn's warning came too late.
A tendril of dark energy shot out from the cloaked figure, striking me square in the chest. I was thrown backward, the impact knocking the wind out of me and sending me crashing into the ground. Pain radiated through my body, but I forced myself to get back up. We couldn't afford any delays.
