章 39: Chapter Thirty Eight: A Short-Lived After Care

Ciara's POV

I stammered, "I didn't know you were serious about that." My expression was one of pure surprise.

Chuckling, he muttered, his eyes flashing with surprise. "Why wouldn't I be? We're married, aren't we? Accustomed to a honeymoon, are we not?"

"Yeah," I said, the surprise still evident in my voice. I then sighed and added, "Yes, of course we are. I mean, I'll go get ready as soon as possible." I said, jolting and scooting to the edge of the bed to stand up.

He grasped my arm mid way, halting me. "No rush, okay? Take your time," he smiled genuinely, although the dim lighting prevented me from seeing his beaming pearly whites.

"Sure, I'll take my time," I responded in a ragged, breathy tone. "You too."

He still didn't let go of my arm, even as I turned my head to glare at him, hoping he'd notice and release me so I could leave.
