It had been two days since the procedure. It didn't even take half an hour, and I was done. The doctor had prescribed some medications for me to take to help me feel better, although I felt a slight sharp pain and some drainage down there, and sometimes I tasted a hint of fresh blood in my mouth. He had assured me that these were all normal side effects that would fade gradually.

None of that could diminish the happiness I felt at no longer being pregnant and being free to start anew. I had packed up my belongings and, without even picking up the medications, rushed back home. Once I arrived, I went straight to Vulcan's mansion to gather my things. I was no longer pregnant, which meant our entire arrangement was now invalid. They didn't have to go through the trouble of terminating the marriage with the one he wanted - at least I was no longer going to ruin anything for him.
