"You want to attack the royal family during the holidays?" she asked.

The Alpha nodded. "Yes."

"So while the royal family is next door at the villa, looking forward to relaxing and spending time with their loved ones... the Blood River Pack will attack them?"

"Yes. At that point, their guards will be most vulnerable," Leland patiently explained. He spoke softly and gently, eager not to frighten his mate; he didn't want her to see this side of him.

But this was exactly the purpose for which Leland had been raised and prepared.

Sophie's expression turned grim, and an uncomfortable feeling intruded in the back of her mind. "When you say you'll eliminate the royal family... do you really mean everyone?"

"Yes, everyone," confirmed Leland solemnly, shaking his head. "They are all too resistant to accept the Lycans and will wage perpetual war if any survive."
