章 66: A NEW FOOD CHAIN.

Navi's vision narrows with cold adrenaline pumping heavily through his veins and his posture ready and waiting for a sharp burst of momentum.

He waits patiently for the perfect timing to attack as he watches the intruders open his door before chuckling as four out of the five-man group goes inside without much caution. The last member of the group is left outside to stand guard.

Diane looks inside the dark house cautiously instead of outside as the gripping sense of danger and death that has been troubling her is increasing with every passing second despite no obvious reasons for this chilly feelings.

They have done much more dangerous missions and compared to most others, the dangers in this mission is negligible even for a two-man squad talk-more an experienced five-man squad like her group.

What could possibly go wrong?!.

Diane gulps a mouth full of saliva as her grip on the open door subconsciously trembles. She watches calmly as her team-mates navigate the dark house without much noise and they approached the shed covered silent figure on the bed.

Her tense attention is drawn to every small movements snd sound from both her room-mates and the unseen target that should be on the bed. She narrows her eyes to try to get a clearer view of the very dark inside but..

Just then,..

Diane's tense silence gets replaced by a burst of shock and horror as a burst of rapidly approaching heavy footsteps coming from her side forces her to shift her attention to its source.

Navi's cold and white suited figure appears in her reflective black pupils as her shocked brain registers his geared-up figure racing towards her in the moonlight with a dagger held dangerously in his right hand.

Navi was fast but not as fast as he wanted to be. The distance between the intruder and the corner he raced from is no more than four meters, -a distance he can cover in four seconds- but four seconds is more than enough for any elite martial disciple to pull off a counter!.

The instant he burst off from his hidden location, Navi's mind is already calculating five to seven steps ahead from different angles and amongst these angles side steps, not even in a single one did he delude himself that he can get a surprise one-strike kill.

He sees Diane's bamboo masked image in a red hue with his feet slaps powerfully against the floor once more. He has calculated every move and with adrenaline and foresight so time slows down for him.

Four wide steps!.

Each step covers up a meter distance and each step takes about one second to complete and by the fourth step he would be in a daggers attack range.

The first step is placed and lunched too quietly for the intruder to register, the next stepanf push is loud and powerful enough to draw her attention and throw her a bit off balance,.. by the next step the small cutlass in her free hand is gripped more properly and by the thunderous fourth step, a low whistle begins to escape her mouth but it is barely released before she is forced to defend her self from the attacker launching dangerously at her figure.

Every move is perfectly predicted to the letter and in slow-mo, Navi watches as Diane swings her small cutlass at him but he has taken a few notes off the death duel he had watched.

Without errors, Navi directs his entire charging momentum into a roll as he not only avoids the cutlass but he also gives a brutal cut to Diane's thigh that immediately brings out a sharp scream from her lungs which she couldn't even finish before the next attack hit her.

The instant Navi's dagger's blade is out of Diane's thigh's flesh, muscles and probably bone,.. Navi makes a sharp turn around on the floor and captures her now unstable body into a roll.

His left-arm between her spread leg, his palm on her stomach's as he rolls her up as if for a wrestling pin with her shoulders stranded on the floor and one of her legs on his shoulder. The roll-up move was executed too fast for Diane to put any resistance and the pain on her thigh made things even worse.. but she wasn't even given the time to fully register that she is now pinned upside down as a dagger goes into her heart almost as soon as her shoulders hit the dirt.

*ŚȚĂB!!.*

Diane's body trembles as the cold metal goes straight into her heart but she is immediately left to fall limply to the ground as her killer rolls off her stabbed and still body with his cruel blade sharply pulling out her body thus leaving her with an accumulating amount of blood pooling beneath her as her mind spirals in pain and shock.

Strenght leaves her body so quickly and her best attempt at movement becomes a spasm in her limb muscles and then the minute twitching of her finger tips. Her heart has been stabbed!.

She felt as body heat leaves her body and as her own blood pool spreads out to tingle the back of her dirty scalp with her senses detaching from her mind as she lays still.

She comes to accept that she was dying and Navi comes to register that he has unalived his first living thing which unfortunately just had to be a person.

From the moment he charged to this moment, less than a ten seconds has passed and the feeling of landing his first kill brings about another rush of adrenaline and something else.

Whatever the other thing is, it isn't a good feeling but it's a good thing that Navi doesn't have time to get in his own mind as he can already see and hear the alerted figures of the other intruders racing at him in the darkness of his house. They were close and racing at him with passion..

In three seconds they would be out of the door and on his figure!. Everything seems to slow down once more as Navi moves to the next stage of his plan. Moving as fast as he could and almost like he never stopped moving, Navi closes the door with one hand and watches in slow-mo as frame and the door kisses into a lock while covering up the visuals of the dark figures racing at him.

A second hasn't even passed-by as he pulls his Claymore sword's blade off his back and out of its sheath like he has done this action a thousand times. The blade hums coldly in the air as he points the tip at the door while holding the handle by his torso's side with a charging posture.

BANG!..

With a crash sound, the door soon opens up. Navi wacthes as the door opens inwardly very slowly as then he kicks off another charge but this time,.. everything immediately leaves slow-mode.

The door opens up and Navi charges in and with his sword pointed forward.

The bug guy with the shield is the first one amongst them to reach the closing door that the attacker pulled shut. There's no doubt about it, the attacker is escaping!.

No, not after what they he had just seen him do to Diane!..

A roar leaves the big man's throat as he touches the door handle before pulling it back open with a bit too much passion but still, he had to completely halt his running momentum.

The moonlight leaks in as the door opens up but flames of shock bursts up in his eyes as a charging Navi rams the full length of his swords blade straight into his stomach before putting the entire force behind his small frame into a wild charge.

Both hands on his sword's handle that's by his right side, his left shoulder ramming into the big man's upper stomach and his superhuman strenght at play as he pushes the man's entire body backwards and not just for one step or two steps.

The brutal ramming and charge happened in an instant and didn't end as Navi manages to push the big man through several meters with a powerful momentum till they hit a wall. The man's injured body slams heavily into the wall thus made him weakly cough out a mouthful of blood on the back of Navi's neck to complement the warm stream of flowing warm blood already bathing the entire of Navi's hands and sword.

With the ruthless momentum, the blade tip drills a bit into the wall and the recoil of the sudden stop gets painfully absorbed by Navi's tender wrist but it didn't stop him from immediately raising his foot and pulling a dagger out before sending its tip upwards and into the man's throat and skull with warm blood running down his hand in the darkness of the house.

Navi's heart is beating fast and all his senses were overwhelmed by.. everything. The metallic smell of running blood, the dying man's desperate and choked groans, the cold warmth of the blood over his skin, the sound of his heart in his veins, the intensity of his bloody grip over his swords bloodier handle,.. the ache of his tender muscles from such a brutal feat and the low buzz in his brain from the intense rushes of adrenaline!..

Navi struggles buy he pulls out his blade from the limp body with a heave as he his lungs heavily takes in the metallic air greedily.

Blood in the air, blood in his hair..

The darkness of the room made it all a bit more thrilling as he sees the last three members of the intruding party staring at him in confusion and tension while finally registering reality as a line of blood flows out of his hair and down to his lips.

Not being an hypocrite, he didn't exactly judge them for the brutality they planned to execute on him but.. they prey on the weak. Navi considers himself different infact, he is different because he,..
