章 102: The end of Hubert's Adventures in the East

The ships sailed west, toward the mainland, toward Creopia, and toward Storsea.

They had known they had arrived, as the city came to sight, like a fireplace in the middle of nights. Its sentry was full of torches, while the streets from afar were like a flock of fireflies.

Wondering excitedly, the soldiers aboard began looking at each other, hugging, and laughing. They thought it was a congratulatory parade for their success against the pirates.

Yet, when the ships landed, they couldn't be any wronger than so.

It was sorrowful, the civilians roamed the street with tears, waving torches of goodbye. While the soldiers bowed down, they too sobbed of the news. The whole city was weeping of the message.

"The beloved Duke of Hawards! Roth Harwards have returned to the Goddess's embrace! Blessed is he in his way!" a crier cried.

It was shocking for the soldiers, watchmen and mercenaries, though Hubert and his companions had known of this before.
