"But isn't there a risk of judging all billionaires as villains? Some of these individuals are proven philanthropists, and their earnings are transparent. It's not a sin to be rich," Johan said, searching for clarity.
"Exactly. It's a misconception that all wealthy individuals are using AI to disfavor others. Many of these tech leaders reinvest their wealth into society, tackling issues like climate change, global health, and education. Their transparency and philanthropy show that AI can be a force for good when used ethically," Amir explained, leaning back with a satisfied look.
"Can you give me an example?" Johan asked, leaning forward.
"Bill Gates, for one. Through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, he's used his wealth to combat diseases, improve education, and address poverty. The key is ensuring that AI serves the broader good and doesn't become a tool for exploitation," Amir said, his voice earnest.
"That's a reassuring perspective. But what about the ethical implications? The social cost?" Johan pressed, his mind a whirl of conflicting thoughts.
