The time had come. The final battle against Karnath-Gor was about to begin. Or so they thought.
Madison stood at the edge of the camp, watching the sun sink below the horizon. The air buzzed with nervous energy as thousands of werewolves made their final preparations for war. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart.
"Nervous?" Wald's voice came from behind her. She turned to see him approach, his armor glinting in the fading light.
"Terrified," Madison admitted. "But ready."
Wald nodded, reaching out to take her hand. "We've come so far," he said softly. "Whatever happens tomorrow, I'm proud of what we've accomplished."
Madison squeezed his hand, drawing strength from his presence. "We're going to win," she said, more to convince herself than him. "We have to."
