章 162: What Needs to Be Done

All these plans were designed to weaken the strength of the cult stationed in Atlanta, like the other bases that have been destroyed, and, in doing so, avoid killing too many people.

"I think this plan is too idealistic," said Addison.

But at that moment, Stuart objected, "We will do this with the sole purpose of avoiding more deaths and wasting resources, but if the bases outside the cult oppose, we must destroy them before they alert the cult base."

Stuart's cold words made everyone realize that this decision would risk a lot, but no one agreed with killing so many people.

"Establish special sniper teams. Negan, you will take charge of that with Sergeant Stuart. Castro, I need you in the air with the helicopters to attack with the special containers. Glenn, you have to take care of eliminating everyone underground by my side."

Naturally, Dominic knew where the gaps in this plan were and quickly proposed a temporary solution. Looking at Stuart, he said, "First, we'll take care of the communities near the cult. We have a list of how many there are and the number of people. It won't be a problem to deal with them, either peacefully or forcefully."

"Thanks to Dung never handing this key over to Teddy's cult, all of us can talk and plan to take down the cult. Therefore, we must do our best and expect the fewest allied casualties possible."

Pointing to the submarine key that the cult had located, Dominic looked at everyone and said, "It's easy to destroy Teddy's cult, but his followers must also be eliminated."

"I think we all share those thoughts, don't we?" Negan asked, looking at everyone in the room.

"We could also simulate an attack on some of their bases. The message that would reach Teddy is that a community serving the cult intercepted a car where the submarine key was being transported. I'm sure Teddy wouldn't stand idly by hearing this."

"No, I don't think he's that stupid." Stuart shook his head at hearing that.

The questions were resolved one by one, and at first glance, it seemed the plan had no major flaws.

Faced with an important decision, Daryl's expression turned a bit uncertain and conflicted. Suddenly, he stood up, walked to the door, and said, "I'll prepare the team. We need to move as soon as possible tomorrow morning."

"Then hurry up; time waits for no one."

Watching the other part leave, Dominic also leaned back in his comfortable chair, looked at the dark sky through the window, and said, "I'm thinking of talking directly with Teddy. I want to see his face."

When everyone heard what Dominic said, they immediately objected: "That won't happen; you can't put yourself in danger like that."

Stuart agreed with the others and said, "It's a bad plan. You can do it by radio. That, after all, would be the safest for everyone."

"This kind of opportunity is unique and might not last long. It doesn't matter if they know beforehand that we're going to attack them; they won't be able to escape anyway. All of this, I want you to be aware that we're doing it to avoid unnecessary deaths and to rescue the families held captive by the cult."

"It's not that I underestimate them. With the number of people and weapons we have, that cult doesn't represent a real threat. It's almost like dreaming that they can stop us. Teams are already moving to locate the warhead base, and it's only a matter of time before we have control."

After a while, it was Addison who spoke first. She looked at Dominic and said with some acceptance, "Life is valuable, and I'm glad you value that. I really think everyone understands it; don't be afraid to lead in your way."

After saying that, Addison returned to her people. The only reason she was there was because she was the representative of the civilians in this base and the one responsible for informing the saved people about the upcoming events.

Dominic expressed his thoughts without hesitation and said, "The gap between the two sides is really too big; they can't beat us, but it's not something we can overlook. This is no longer just a personal vendetta; we're trying to survive without nuclear radiation."

"Alright, then let's gather the soldiers to inform them," said Stuart as he bid farewell to everyone.

When the clock struck 11, the voices of the dispute slowly calmed, and the people inside went out the door, scattered, and hurried back to their rooms.

A few minutes later, heavy and slow footsteps appeared outside the room where Dominic was, and Stuart appeared at the door with a resolute expression.

"Have you figured it out?"

"I've talked to the soldiers, and they all showed their support."

After getting the response he wanted, Dominic stood up and said with a smile, "We need to move quickly tomorrow. We can't stay in this place; we are important somewhere else where thousands of people need us."

"Yes!"

Dominic planned to neutralize the remaining three bases serving the cult. Once they accept surrender or show hostility, they will be dealt with accordingly.

After weakening the cult's power, they would attack directly, but not before giving Teddy the chance to surrender and die for his followers.
