章 2: Chapter 2 Aerion Targaryen

Outside the Redkeep wall,

Navigating through winding streets and bustling markets, Aemma pressed forward, her determination unwavering. The weight of her slient promise to Liliya propelled her onward, driving her to overcome any obstacle in her path.

Finally, they reached the designated spot, where the mercenary stood, awaiting their arrival. With a sense of urgency, Aemma approached, her heart pounding in her chest as she prepared to take custody of the child entrusted to her care.

Receiving custody of the child, Aemma instructed the guards to compensate the mercenary before settling into the carriage. As she gazed upon the cherubic infant, swathed in soft fur, she felt her heart swell with maternal affection.

Locking eyes with the baby, Aemma sensed a reciprocal connection, igniting a wave of tender emotions within her. "From this day forward, you are my son, and I am your mother," she declared softly, cradling the child in her arms.

A sudden realization struck her – the child remained unnamed, a detail perhaps overlooked by her friend. "My dear, though your name was left unsaid, henceforth you shall be known as Aerion, Aerion Targaryen."

With resolve, Aemma embarked on her journey to the Red Keep, where she promptly made her way to the throne room. Upon entering, she found Viserys who sat on the iron throne instead of the bedridden King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, Daemon, and several council members engaged in discussion. Without hesitation, she interrupted, asserting her presence with authority.

"I requested a moment alone with my husband," Aemma announced, her tone breaking no argument.

Viserys and the others remained absorbed in the kingdom's affairs, oblivious to the presence of the baby. "Aemma, if you have something, we can discuss it later," Viserys offered, his tone gentle and reassuring.

But Aemma's frustration simmered beneath the surface, exacerbated by each encounter with Viserys. "I said leave," she bellowed, her anger echoing through the hall, silencing even the typically playful Daemon, who regarded her with astonishment.

The sudden eruption of Aemma's rage left everyone stunned. They had never witnessed their queen in such a state. Where once stood a figure of kindness and composure, now radiated an aura of formidable intensity, casting an invisible weight upon all who beheld her.

Aemma's outburst startled the sleeping baby, prompting it to awaken and cry, capturing the attention of everyone present. Despite her fury, Aemma instinctively soothed the child, cradling it gently in her arms.

Witnessing this tender moment and sensing the gravity of Aemma's emotions, Viserys wisely chose to adjourn the meeting. "Please, everyone, leave us," he instructed, his tone conveying both authority and concern.

With murmurs of understanding, the attendees bowed respectfully and exited the throne room, though Daemon couldn't resist stealing a few curious glances at the baby before departing.

Left alone with Viserys, Aemma, and the baby, Viserys approached his wife, a mixture of confusion and curiosity etched on his face. "What's troubling you, my dear? And who is this adorable little one?" he inquired, attempting to peer beneath the fur cloths covering the child.

"Your son, Aerion," Aemma declared, her words striking him with a mixture of shock and disbelief. "What?" he exclaimed, his voice betraying his astonishment before quickly softening under Aemma's stern gaze.

"What do you mean, dear? I mean, I..." he faltered, struggling to comprehend the revelation unfolding before him.

Viserys attempted to clarify, "Aemma, there must be some confusion here, this is impossible." He was very much confused, he had whore around with Deamon during his youth when he was young and free but after he was crowned heir of westors he had been holding back so he was sure that he can't have such a small baby as his illegitimate son.

"Viserys," Aemma's voice echoed in the grand hall, her tone laced with a chilling calmness. "There's no misunderstanding here. This child, this innocent life, is your son. He was born to Liliya after you...."

She took a deep breath as she continued "after that night when wine clouded your judgment," she revealed, her gaze unwavering.

Viserys' face paled, his mind racing to piece together the fragments of that forgotten night. The realization hit him like a tidal wave, leaving him speechless. He knew an apology would be a hollow gesture, a feeble attempt to mend the unfixable.

"I... Aemma, I..." he stammered, his voice barely a whisper. He reached out, pulling his wife into a desperate embrace. "What do you want me to do?" he asked, his voice trembling with uncertainty.

Aemma pulled away, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Liliya left Kings Landing after she discovered her pregnancy. She only asked for my permission to leave with the child, and I granted it. But now..." Her voice trailed off, her gaze falling on the small bundle in her arms.

"We can adopt him," Viserys offered hastily, eager to find a solution. "I will announce his origin myself."

"No, Viserys," Aemma interrupted, her voice firm. "I don't want to just adopt him. I want him to be our son, Aerion Targaryen. I want to ensure he is not labeled as Viserys' bastard, but as Aerion Targaryen."

Viserys was taken aback. Acknowledging Aerion as his illegitimate son was one thing, but bestowing upon him the Targaryen name was a different matter entirely. He knew the nobles, the small council, and even the religious institutions would resist such a decision.

"Aemma, my love," he pleaded, trying to reason with her. "As the future Queen of Westeros, you must consider the implications of such a decision on the kingdom, Not to mention Grandfather won't allow such rash actions."

"I don't care, Viserys," Aemma retorted, her gaze hardening. "Basterd or not whatever others called her, Liliya was a real sister to me and this is her child my nephew, You should have thought of the consequences before..." Her voice faltered as she glanced at the baby in her arms.

"The council will not agree with this ?" Viserys tried to argue.

"Did you ask the council and get their permission before you forced yourself on my sister, did you ask the council when you impregnated her,..."

"Aemma, I..." Viserys began, but his words were cut short as Aemma turned on her heel, leaving him alone in the throne room with his thoughts and regrets.

"Viserys this is your son, and neither this child or Liliya made the mistake you did, at least think of that." Aemma said as the echo of her departing footsteps was the only sound that filled the silence, leaving a stunned Viserys behind.
