章 55: Undress Me!

Darion felt his blood rush when a bucket of ice cold water was poured on him, waking him from the short nap he'd taken. The chill run down his spine making him shiver. The strands of his hair got stuck on his forehead blurring his vision. But how could he not recognize this face? Bracken of gods knows where!

"Did I disrupt your sleep?" Bracken asked, setting the bucket on the floor. "A quick shower I might say, before you meet with the queen."

The door turned open at the same time revealing Queen Jessica wrapped in a shawl. Darion's fists clenched harder.

"Leave us," she ordered.

Bracken grunted low before he slammed the door behind him as he exited. The queen assessed Darion's state. He had a crack on the face, probably a blow or two from Bracken. She walked closer and lifted Darion's chin, but the look she got.

"I should have left clear instructions before I left," she said, dropping her hands to the side.
