The plasma blast coursed through the wind towards Wallace's unprotected back, in that moment he felt its intense heat touching his skin. 

However, in that instant, with a smooth motion of his whole body, as if he knew what they were planning, he quickly moved his arm gauntlet, and a shine of metal caught the light. 

One would notice that the wrist brace he had been wearing on his left hand was now hurled through the air, right into the path of the deadly plasma blast.

Time seemed to slow down as the two objects collided. The plasma blast struck the wrist brace, and for a split second, the air crackled with raw power. "Kaboom!!" Then, with a loud crack, the guard exploded in a blinding flash of loud electrical light and solid blasted energy.
