It is rare that I can be bothered to write a review. I have well over a hundred books in my reading list and while I have many very good stories to read, a truly outstanding one like this is rare. This story is worth full marks for character design and story development (although I am only at chapter 104 currently). If not for the relatively poor translation quality (mixing up the "he" and "she") it would be close to a perfect score. Rebirth stories are common but what sets this one apart from the rest is the “realistic” story (well, as realistic as a rebirth theme can be). A typical FL is reborn strong, cunning, and sometimes vicious OR she’s reborn still weak and stupid (but I generally DNF the second type as I can’t stand a weak FL). Our FL, Yun Jinnian, possesses a gentle heart and is traumatised by memories of her past life. She struggles as a young miss in her second life, due to PTSD and depression. BUT she is not stupid - she is extremely smart and manages, despite lacking power, money and without backing, to protect herself and gather powerful support. What is really intriguing to watch is how Yun Jinnian guards her heart. She is terrified of being hurt again and its heart wrenching to see her struggle. By chapter 104 the ML is well established, and the second ML has been introduced BUT I’m in it for Yun Jinnian and I will continue to follow her journey with great interest! Hoping to find out how her rebirth came about also.
I enjoyed reading this book. so much so that I came to the comments to see if someone had the raws, and fortunately, they did. I ike the it wasn't too long. (just over 1000 chapters), although the last few chapters seemed a bit rushed, the loose ends were tied up. Great job, author.
