章 49: Tiger-Fight

"I was lucky enough to not only avoid those flamethrowers spitting at me, but... I also managed to catch one or two cannonballs and throw them back at those darn cannons!"

"Oh damn, that must have been pretty awesome!" No. 704 listened excitedly to my brief explanation.

Essentially, I had just told him about the cannonball onslaught, but I toned it down a few notches and added a bit here and there. For example... I mentioned how I also faced a flamethrower obstacle.

Which was partly not a lie, mind you. I did in fact face a flamethrower-like obstacle... but not during the cannonball onslaught.

Making up the flamethrower part was an excuse to avoid mentioning how my body had also been covered with dark flames thingy that granted me some sort of superhuman speed... or time-slowing ability? Even I wasn't sure myself.
