(SASHA)
His muscles tense and a flush rises on his neck. He takes a step back and anger glowers through his pretty eyes. "Are you making fun of me?"
Im tempted to laugh, but I know better not to. It is clear that he is terrified of me. I have to admit thiugh that I love his courage of standing up to me. Unfortunately for him, that's like a puppy taking on a bear. "No, i'm serious."
"W...What? Why?...I don't...husband?" He sputters.
"Yes, I need a husband. An omega. It's urgent even."
His brows knit close together. "I'm not following."
I roll my eyes. "Are you serious? I need a husband, right away. Its obvious your life is a mess. You are pregnant, alone and unclaimed. With a snap of my fingers I can make an instant change for you. I trust you wont be foolish enough to refuse."
"You can't seriously be asking me to marry you. And you thought this was the best way to?"
"Look, before you get excited, know that this is purely business. I dont know if you know much about my family, but my father is dying." I swallow hard.
He flinches. "I heard that he was sick. I just didn't know that he was dying."
"And I don't need your sympathy." I scowl. "What I need is an answer."
He flushes again. "You just told me your father is dying. Of course, you have my sympathy."
"Whatever." I sigh. "Now, what's it gonna be, yes or no?"
He looks bewildered. Of course, I understand why. I would be too. But im offering him a lifeline and he could help me with my issue. Fair trade if you ask me.
"Why would you want me to be your husband, me...of all the people?
"Because I dont have time to woo anyone. You'd know the score. All I need you to do is to play the part of my doting omega around people until I can secure my position as head of the Triple Triads. It doesn't have to be true. You can drop the act when we're alone. Once I've secured my position, we wont even have to live together. We can drop the charade in five years or less."
"How's that? From what I heard, the Adonis men were faithful to their partners.
Heat rushes to my face. "Yeah, they are. When they marry for love."
I notice how his face twitches. His lips curve but he says nothing. It is the truth. Ours would be a marriage of convenience. I wouldn't tell hin a lie just so he can feel good.
"All I want is for my men to trust me as head of tge Triple Triad Syndicate. Once they do, we'll have no business invading each other's spaces. We can divorce quietly. No one will even have to know. The important thing here is for me to take control and make other syndicates aware of my authority."
"Once I've established that you've been a truly faithful and helpful omega to me, I'll see to it that you're well compensated for it. I'll make sure you're taken care of financially for the rest of your days."
"If I've been a truly faithful?" He crosses his arms and tilts his head to the side as if he's contemplating something. "What if I fall short and don't live to your expectations? And who even gets to decide whether I've been a good omega or not?"
"Me." I smirk.
"Well, I prefer someone from the outside to be the judge."
"Oh you do?"I ask condescendingly. We haven't even acquainted with each other well enough and he's already making demands. My lips curve into an evil grin. "Too bad."
"Yeah? So what happens if I dont live to those expectations?" He asks, shifting uncomfortably.
"Do I really have to spell it out for you Tyler? I'm sure you know how that will go."
"Then no." He immediately jerks as fear overrides his face. " Im sure there are many omegas who'll fit just right for you."
"Of course. But the omegas you talk about have options don't have. I mean, you're desperate. Alone. Pregnant. Unclaimed. Should I continue?"
"You don't have to be happy about it." He scowls.
"I'm happy I'll have my problem solved if you agree." I laugh. "Look, I don't want an omega, snd I sure as hell dont want to marry, but here we are. So what's it going to be?"
"And what's so pressing about it, why do you have to get married?"
"Tyler, I told you my father is dying."
"Still, what's the hurry for?"
I sigh. "It makes me appear mature. More stable." I say heavily, frustration gnawing at me.
"Well, I dont think I want to get married to the head of Triple Triads. You are criminals, murderers. You are thieves."
"Well, yes." I say. For a monent I want to tell him that theres more to the syndicate, but then again I see no need to explain it to him. The mafia has built quite a reputation for itself, so I don't justify anything.
"But your life would be easier. You wouldn't crawl to beg fir peanuts anymore." I point to his rounded belly. "See, that baby you're carrying will be taken care of. You wont have ti worry much about your finances anymore. People would practically beg to do your bidding."
"And what makes you think I need all of that?"
"Who doesn't need respect? See, the Adonis name will protect you. That fool at the diner,he wouldn't pull that with you if he knew you are my omega."
"You know about that?"he looks surprised.
"I do. Miles has been watching you. I told him to find me some desperate, suitable omegas. You're one of the omegas he found."
"But I highly doubt that you find me suitable."
"You know, if this were a real marriage, you wouldnt be considered suitable. Right now I just want someone who can play the part. Someone who can obey orders and live the lie."
"Oh, that's flattering." He whispers.
"Another thing I told Miles to consider in my potential mate was someone who has no involvement with any other town syndicates whatsoever. You'd be suprised to how hard it is yo find such a person, but you wouldn't know, would you?
"No, I wouldn't. So if you know I've been avoiding your likes, what makes you think I'd want to get involved with the mafia now ? He pauses for a while.
When he doesn't get my response, he continues. "And worse, Sasha Adonis' omega? Won't that just put a target on my back?"
"Depends. Sure, my enemies wouldn't take pleasure on grabbing anyone around me. But doing that would breed war. Yes, they like to brag about it,but in truth, they don't want war. It ruins business."
He seems to be understanding me. One moment he seems to forget and rubs his belly unconsciously. This beauty thing! His hair is long, shoulder length and he's got those gorgeous blue eyes with long lashes. My cock twitches in my pants by just a look of him. But our arrangement is staged. He doesn't have to sleep with me.
"Where's your baby's dad?"
(SASHA)
He hesitates for a bit. I can see how uncomfortable he is, which makes me want to know why.
"What? Is he dead?"
He tenses. "Why?"
"Well, I'm curious."
"Does it matter?"
"No, not really," I reply. I have to admit I like how reserved he is and I'm dying to know what he is hiding. "It's not common for an omega to be pregnant without an alpha. We both know that."
He stares at me for a second then blurts out. "I'm not planning on keeping this baby."
I arch a brow. "So that means he's dead? Or why else wouldn't you want to keep the baby? Did he abandon you?
Fear works through him as he contemplates an answer, which makes me think he's about to lie. But I can find out that information for myself if I want to. However, I still want to hear what he has to tell me.
"No, he isn't dead. I just don't want to carry his baby. I have my reasons." He fondles with his fingers, avoiding my gaze. I know it sounds heartless…but―"
"That's it, Tyler." I cut him mid-sentence. "We all have our reasons for doing the things we do. Yet you judge others. You aren't any better than us. We are all selfish."
His jaw hardens and he doesn't respond. When I realize he isn't going to, I keep going. "I'll give you time to think about it."
"You know, I don't need time to think about it. I appreciate the offer, really but I don't want to. No offense, I just can't do it." He replies shakily.
"Oh Tyler, you can. And I think you should do it."
"I don't want to be your omega." He blurts out bluntly.
I bite my jaw, offended by his outright rejection. That is brave, sure, and very stupid of him. "Listen Tyler. I'll give you time to think about it again. Carefully." I say, making sure to not sound threatening when in truth, that's how I intend to sound.
"As I told you, Sasha…I…don't need time to think it over. I don't want to. Please look for someone else. I'm sure there reckons of omegas willing to jump at the offer." He shivers.
Stubborn little brat. Hard as his life is, he still has the guts to refuse my offer. I don't understand how he enjoys that life, or how he still wants to live it despite my offer. I wonder how he will pull through when he can barely take care of himself. I can safely assume that, given the gaunt circles below his eyes and how tired he looks. It's a pity.
"And I insist you think about my offer, but I'll need you to answer in twenty-four hours, and not a minute late."
His eyes go wide. To be fair, I understand why. But this is not the time or the place to be considerate of what he wants or not. I'm giving him an easy option, and I don't care that he isn't seeing that. Hell, I'll force him if I have to. "What? Are you serious? Even if I was interested, which I'm not, I wouldn't make such a life-altering decision in 24 hours!"
I grin. "Unfortunately, that's all the time you got. As I told you, my father is dying. I need to get married as soon as possible.
"So you are considerate after all?" he huffs.
"What do you mean?" I arch my brow.
"You want him to see you get married." He crosses his arms over his chest.
Typical sentimental fool. He thinks I want my father to watch me walk down the aisle. "Tyler, that isn't the reason. If my father dies before I get married, there will be war. That's what the urgency is about. War could break among the syndicates.
"Oh!" his gaze flickers as he comes to the realization.
I rake my eyes over him, taking note of his stubbornness. "Miles will bring you a phone. When you finally have an answer, make sure to call me latest tomorrow midnight, and not later than that. I'll assume your answer is a no if I don't get a call by then."
"But Sa―"
"And let me give you a fair warning." I talk over him. "If you are dumb enough to refuse my offer, I'll be sure to make your life a living hell. If you think you've had it rough up until now, then you haven't seen anything yet." He winces, and some twisted part of me likes that he does, so I continue. "I'll make you loathe your life and when you've lost everything, I'll tell Miles to cut your tongue out."
"Then I'll make sure you die a painful death."
He takes a step away from me, fear overriding him. I signal Miles and he comes with the burner phone then hands it to him. He takes it and doesn't say a word.
I have to admit there's something satisfying about watching him look petrified like this. I head back to the car with an evil grin on my face. Once inside, I watch him walk the rest of his way to the said shelter.
The SUV windows are tinted, and I can see him from the inside, but he can't see him from the inside. He is shaking, perhaps from the cold, or what I just told him, but even then, there's still that stubborn look in his eyes.
A chill rushes to my cock when I think of all ways I want to make that stubborn little slob submit to me. But who knows, he might refuse my proposal. Not that I'll make his life easy when he finally does. I meant everything I told him back there. Too bad because if he dares to refuse, ill have to send Miles to make his life a living nightmare, and when I'm finally satisfied with his suffering, ill tell Miles to slit that beautiful throat open.
