章 44: How Dare You Spank Me! I'm No Child!

The quiet of the night was broken by two sneaky figures quietly entering Alex' bedroom. Looking at Alex, asleep on the bed, Mila was poised to stir up trouble. 

Isabella, though, hesitated and pulled her back, whispering: "Maybe we should just drop this…" 

"Drop this?" Mila's eyes widened as she responded firmly: "We've come too far to back down now. Wouldn't we be throwing away all our efforts? Plus, he's under the effect of the Calming Pill, practically a normal person for now. Just a little push and he'll have to take me on as his disciple. If it comes to it, we can host a grand apprenticeship feast for Mr. Watson to make amends, right?" 

Convinced, Isabella reluctantly released her hold, letting Mila proceed. They both knew Alex could later notice the anomaly and suspect them. It might as well secure their objective while they had the chance.
