章 25: Chapter 16: [jutsu shiki] x Spar x Aftermath
A/n: sorry for the lte chapter, I was tring to think of how to make the battle and trying to write the other fanfic plus I wasn't feeling well for a couple of days but I'm better now
Riku POV
We head outside to the chief and I would spar so everyone could see how strong I am without magic. I figured this is a good way to show a magic that could be useful to the village. Once we go to an open area I start talking.
Me:"Alright before we start I want to set up something for the spar. It is called [jutsu shiki]."
Ogre chief:"What is [jutsu shiki]?"
Me:"It is a magic that creates a barrier with magic runes, whoever is inside is bound by its rules and the only way out is to follow them."
Ogre chief:"What happens if you break the rules of the barrier?"
Me:"It depends on the what the rules and conditions are. For example, in this spar the barrier will have the conditions [whoever uses magicules within this boundary will be ejected out of the barrier]. so if someone uses magic will be pushed out of the barrier. I could provide a demonstration if you don't mind."
Ogre chief:"Yes please show us."
I nodded my head in response as a I took a pen looking object out of my [storage], they seem surprised that I could use [space magic]. Well the spacial attribute is suppose to be rare so their shock is understandable.
I start to write the [jutsu shiki] barrier with the condition [whoever uses magicules within this boundary will be ejected out of the barrier]. The runes then glowed on the ground in a circle to show the boundary of the spar. They all looked with interest as I entered the boundary to test the rules of the barrier. I then used [light magic] to create a small light ball, the moment I did I felt an invisible force push me out of the barrier.
After rolling twice after being pushed out the barrier I landed on my feet like a cat. They all had a look of surprise and awe that I was pushed out of the boundary after I used magic. The ogre chief walked up to me and started talking.
Ogre chief:"So that was [jutsu shiki]. It is interesting, were you planning to teach us this magic?"
Me:"Of course I was. Imagine if the contition was [anyone who seeks to harm the residents of this village shall not pass]. Then the village would be protected from those who have malicous intent toward the village. "
Ogre chief:"That would be good but how is it in combat?"
Me:"The runes take time to right so it's essentially useless in a one-on-one fight. However it is far more effective when used to set up traps. Also when you set them up you don't want to make the rules to vague or have misspellings; otherwise those inside the barrier will find a way out very easily."
Ogre chief:"I see, well lets start the spar."
Me:"Sure, with he current rules of the barrier set; whoever uses magicules will be considered an instant lose. Since the point was to see our strength without magic."
The chief nodded at what I said as we headed toward the barrier; but first I am curious about something.
Me:'[spirit sage] is it possible to use my [hero aura] as a substitute for magicules to use [blut]?'
<Answer, it is possible to use the your [hero aura] to use [blut]. However since you are not use to using aura instead of magicules it may result in a slight pain that might be negligible due to the skill [pain resistance].>
I see, but theres also the possibility that this pain might me more thatn my [pain resistance] skill can deal with. As the saying goes "No pain, No gain" if I learn to use [aura] like that it may be helpful in times when I can't use magic.
After all, I don't think I can defeat Guy Crimson with magic alone; but if I can mix my [aura] into my attacks and skills, it could be helpful.
I then look to the others and started to speak.
Me:"Bambie, Candice, Meni, Liltotto, Gigi. I want you to watch this spar and later I will ask you what you learned from it."
Bambie:"Do you really think we can learn from"
Then we go inside the barrier each of us holding a sword and getting into position.
Me:'[spirit sage] I need you to channel my [hero aura] into my [blut vene] while I focus on the battle.'
<Understood.>
After hearing that, I felt my [aura] circulating in my body without any pain but who knows how long that will last. That was when the chief son came close to the barrier to officiate the fight.
Red haired ogre:"Are both sides ready?"
Me/Ogre chief:"Yes." We both confirm as the chiefs son contibues.
Red haired ogre:"Then you may begin."
When he said that we stood our ground and watching each other to see who makes the first move. The first move is often important when fighting someone who is proficient in a type of weapon and martial art.
Seeming like he was done waiting as started to run toward me with his sword ready to strike. I kept my eye on him so I could see where he was going to attack from.
After he went behind me, I turned around and held my sword up to block him.
*ding*
As his sword hit mine, I could feel the strength he put into his strike. He wasn't using his full power in this attack, he must be testing my defense against this level of strength.
I can handle it with my strength since I trained most of my life to fight hollows, soul reapers and eventually Yhwach. If I were to fight with all my abilities, I could win easily but the point was to fight without magic. It is a good thing I learned how to uses weapons other than bows and arrows.
Our swords continued to clash; with neither one of us giving in, I should change tactics. He managed to graze me a couple of times but thanks to my [blute] he hasn't been able to put a scratch on me. I can use that to my advantage since he doesn't know how strong my [blute] is.
I don't know how long I can keep up using [heroic aura] instead of magicules for my [blute].
<Answer, if the fight continues like it has been it will take about 5 minutes before you start feeling the pain of circulating aura throughout your body.>
Well this is the first time I am using aura instead of magicules in my [blute], so thats to be expected. The skill is [pain resistance], the key word being resistance; meaning there is a limit to the pain it can stop. I need to train more. In that case, I should finish this spar soon or it may not end well.
Me:"I think we should finish this fight with the next attack, don't you think so chief?"
Ogre chief:"I agree, we should finish this. If you survive this next attack, then you will be the winner."
Me:"Yes lets finish this."
After we agreed, he got into a stance where he held his sword with its gaurd to the height of his shoulder. This means hes going to use a sword art.
Ogre chief:"Haze: thunder of heaven and earth."
When he said that he disappeared, he must be using his speed to attack me. With [universal sense] I could tell where he is going to attack from, so I jumped back to dodge an upward slash. If I remember correctly from the anime, he will do a downward slash next.
As I see the sword coming, I use my left hand to catch the blade which mad him widened his eyes in surprise. I am sure he wasn't expecting his opponent to catch his sword with their bare hand, I then move the blade my left while I placed my sword near his neck
Me:"Looks like I win doesn't it?"
Ogre chief:"Yes it does." he said with a smile.
After that the [jutsu shiki] faded away since the spar has concluded. I then deactivated my blute but it seems that I felt a sharp pain in my left hand. I could tell there was no cut on my hand but it was slightly sore from the impact of sword.
Me:"You are a good fighter but sometimes that is not enough to guarantee victory in battle."
Ogre chief:"That does make sense, I certainly didn't expect you to catch my sword with your bare hand."
Me:"That is a skill intrinsic to quincies like me and my party members called [blute]. Ordinarily it channels magicules through the body via the vienes and arteries to improve attack or defense. But since we weren't using magicules in our spar I tried to use [aura] instead of magicules." He had a look of shock as I continued. "But it isn't perfect, if I use it for tool long I would feel a levl of pain even the [pain resistance] skill couldn't deal with."
Ogre chief:" that sounds like battlewill, it's impressive you figured that much on your own. We can teach you and your comrades about it will your teaching us magic."
Me:"Sure, but first lets get to the others."
Then we went to the others and they were glad that we both made it out of the fight with very little injuries. While we were walking, the chief seemed curious about something so he decided to ask me a question.
Ogre chief:"You said that your [blute] could be used for offense or defense, and during our spar I felt my sword graze you it didn't cut your skin. Did you use your [blute] only for defense during our spar?"
When he asked me that question, everyone was looking at me including bambie and the others. I am sure that they must be curious about how I used [blute] without magicules. I'll explain to them later, but for now I'll answer the cheifs question.
Me:"Yes I used [blute] for defense the entire battle." they looked at me shocked as I continued. "If your wondering why i did that, it was because I didn't want to accidentally kill the chief. I came to establish friendly relations with this village and killng the chief would not be a good way to do that. Even if the rule is {survival of the fittest} it didn't feel right to me to kill a man in front of his children." I said the last sentence while looking at the chiefs son and daughter.
Pink ogre:"Thanks for considering our feeligs and for not hurting our father too much." she said while bowing.
Red ogre:"Thanks for indulging our father in this spar." he also said while bowing your head.
Me:"it's ok, you can raise your heads." they straightened up as I continued "It was educational not just for me but for my comrades. I know there may be situations where we may have our magic sealed. That is why I want us to learn from experts on using [aura] in battle and I want to teach this vilage a few things so you can defend yourselves and each other."
Ogre chief:"Lets talk more about our plans after we rest and have dinner."
Me:"Yeah, after fighting like that, we need to rest."
We went back to the chiefs house to rest and I'll talk to bambie and the others about my spar. I'll see if they learned anything.

10 minutes later
I am in a room in the chiefs house in the ogre village after my spar with the village chief.
Me:"Alright, I want to know what you learned from the spar." I said to the quincies in front of me.
They had a look of contemplation on their faces as they think back to the spar I had with the ogre chief.
Gigi:"That the chief was strong?" she said while tilting her head.
Meni:"I don't think that's what he wanted us to learn."
Me:"But Gigi is not that far off since he didn't use magic during the fight."
Liltottto:"Magicules in this world is like reishi in our world so its easy to use for us quincies."
Bambie:"However there may be times where we may not be able to use magic or reishi."
Candy:"Since quincies always rely on that power, if we were prevented from using it we would become easy targets."
Bambie: "So you want us to learn other ways of fighting so we wouldn't be helpless in case we can't use our usual powers."
Candy:"That's why learn to used different fighting styles right?"
After about a minute of silence I started to clap and speak.
Me:"That's is correct. That is what I wanted you to learn. Some people would have died before learning that lesson. Sometimes, A battle is like playing with a deck of cards; the more cards you have to use in battle the better and its best to play your cards close to your chest."
Candy:"I get the first part but why the second part?"
Me:"If your enemy knows what you can do, then they WILL find a way to counter your abilities. So starting tomorrow, we will be learning from the ogre village and I will be teaching magic to the ogres." They nod in understanding.
Our ogre village training montage will begin tomorrow.
