Chapter 163: The Sage Does Nothing, Yet Leaves Nothing Undone!
Soft warmth fell into his arms, and Kong felt a shock course through his whole body. He had just walked away from a paradise of gentleness and heroism, and now, once again, he was faced with another situation!
Opening his eyes, he was greeted by a warm smile that shone like a golden sun.
Golden hair cascaded down to her waist, her face pure and without makeup, flawless and radiant. Just looking at her made him feel like he had captured the essence of summer.
"I've realized I truly love you, not because of your talent or strength. Those things… they're only a small part of it."
"Thinking it over, I know now I can't be without you."
"Kong, what should I do?"
Looking at her face so close, and hearing her slightly sorrowful words, Kong's hands felt awkward, unsure where to place them.
She held him tightly, unwilling to let go.
During this time, Qian Renxue realized she was genuinely addicted—to love, to Kong, a poison without a cure!
And now, she was asking him what to do about it.
"How would I know what to do!" Kong thought to himself, feeling as if he wanted to cry but had no tears. Looking up, he saw clear skies, a sign that both his wives were in a good mood.
"It's been a while, Xue."
Kong spoke softly. He didn't really know what else to say; in the past, to him, the world was filled with strangers, everyone except Yu Yuanzhen.
Only Ei and the Raiden Shogun were worth a lifetime of protection. Even if he lacked the strength, he would push forward for their sake.
Otherwise, what would all the thunder and lightning he endured be for?
After all, those trials weren't something a normal soul master could withstand!
Tang San, Yu Xiaogang, Tang Hao, Poseidon, Asura God—Kong had never considered them his opponents. Their existence had nothing to do with him.
Driven only by interests, Kong became like a sage—doing nothing, yet leaving nothing undone.
Hearing his words, Qian Renxue trembled slightly. Was Kong's evasive answer a subtle rejection?
Did this mean she would have to rely on her family's secret techniques after all? But even if she combined her strength with that of She Xue and She Long, she doubted they'd stand a chance against him.
After all, this was the same man who had just slain Tang Hao!
To Qian Renxue, Tang Hao was an immensely powerful Title Douluo—someone who had "killed" her father, Qian Xunji.
Her father had been exceptionally strong.
If Tang Hao had managed to defeat and seriously injure him, how could Tang Hao's strength be anything but formidable?
Qian Renxue was unaware that her father had actually been killed by her mother, Bibi Dong. In her mind, her father was gravely wounded by Tang Hao, leading to his death.
Kong's killing of Tang Hao felt like a form of revenge for her "father."
In Qian Renxue's mind, Kong was destined to be her husband, making her father Kong's "father-in-law."
She thought her grandfather would be pleased to know this.
Qian Daoliu: "…"
Poor Tang Hao had to take the blame!
Just as Kong thought Qian Renxue might release him, she suddenly surprised him with a light kiss on the cheek, catching him off guard!
This was crossing a line!
"Thank you for taking down that man; it avenged my father," Qian Renxue whispered, still not letting go.
Hearing this, Kong froze once again. Was Qian Renxue about to reveal everything?
"Xue, are you planning to come clean with me?"
Qian Renxue also paused, and Kong could feel a slight tremor in her body. She quickly composed herself, though.
"So, you knew all along!"
The two exchanged glances, both silent for a moment, then broke into a smile.
Not long afterward, outside the outskirts of Heaven Dou City, Kong and Qian Renxue lay side by side on a patch of grass, gazing up at the sky.
"My name is Qian Renxue."
"I know."
Qian Renxue: "…"
Her identity had always been a secret. Even among the central figures of the Spirit Hall, few were aware of her existence.
Kong, how did he know her identity?
"You're Qian Renxue, daughter of the former Supreme Pontiff, granddaughter of the Grand Worshipper of the Spirit Hall, and the current Supreme Pontiff…"
Kong paused, choosing not to continue, as he knew Qian Renxue's relationship with Bibi Dong was far from harmonious.
"I also know you used the art of 'bait and switch,' transforming into Xue Qinghe and hiding here in Heaven Dou City."
"Xue, am I right?"
Qian Renxue fell silent. She had assumed Kong only knew part of the truth, just enough to see through her disguise, but he actually knew everything.
Wait!!
"You're calling me a 'cat'?!"
Qian Renxue's voice rose several decibels, sounding slightly incredulous.
Kong froze, feeling his mind buzzing. Why was her focus so sharp? The term "bait and switch" was just a metaphor!
He hesitated, his mouth slightly open as if wanting to speak but holding back.
Seeing this, Qian Renxue couldn't help but chuckle softly, a hint of amusement gleaming in her beautiful eyes. She hadn't expected Kong to show such an expression.
Calculated and unfazed? He seemed to know everything yet appeared indifferent, as if he was unconcerned. He truly was a strange person.
As for how Kong knew, Qian Renxue didn't want to dwell on it; it only left her feeling somewhat defeated.
She had investigated the Raiden Shogun (Ei) for so long!
And what had she learned?
Absolutely nothing!
And here she was, entirely transparent to Kong.
Maybe he had known the moment he first saw her...
"When did you realize who I was?"
Kong thought briefly before replying, "Honestly, I had a hunch the first time I saw you."
"No matter how well you hide it, after years of playing Xue Qinghe, there are still small traces of him in your actions."
"No wonder She Long and Uncle Shi Xue say you have terrifyingly sharp insight. You really are remarkable!" Qian Renxue praised him sincerely.
She remembered when she had first met Kong in her true form; he had even complimented her legs, saying they were fairer than Dugu Yan's.
Recalling this, Qian Renxue felt a surge of confidence.
"Now that you know my secret, haven't you ever considered exposing me to Xue Ye in secret?" Qian Renxue asked quietly, turning her head to gaze at him intently.
This man, much younger than she, held so many secrets.
"Revealing my identity could bring countless benefits to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan and weaken the Spirit Hall…"
Hearing this, Kong chuckled and looked into Qian Renxue's eyes as he replied, "From the perspective of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, I probably should."
"But aren't we friends?"
"You've treated me with respect, as a worthy ally. How could I betray you for mere profit?"
"If someone else had been sent here on this mission, who knows if I might have just…"
