章 21: chapter 21
The avatar swooped down on her glider which blew dust in my face. I blinked a few times attempting to get the dust out of my eyes. I heard some reporters from the crowd scream a bit louder from the others just to a point where I could barely discern what they said 'do you regret leaving the spirit portals open' it was all along the guides of that.
The avatar answered boldy to the crowd while holding her staff tall. "I do not regret my actions, I believe it was a good first step to build a new world, a better world for all, Including the spirits." Her tall and straight posture and her serious face showed she was belived in 'her' cause.
I influenced her not this step so I declare this cuase to be mine. Then a man from the crowd with a two part mustache spoke loudly with his camera flashing "Are The Vines Here To Stay" the avatar responded sounding frustrated "look, I just need more time to get things back into working order"
"The Avatar has put us in a difficult place, a very difficult place but my administr-" the president said gripping the side of the wooden podium hard, hard enough for some of the wood to crack. The avatar cut him off and started her rant "OH, I'm sorry did I put you in a difficult postion by trying to make the world more diverse and spiritual, maybe your administration should've handled vaatu because if I can defeat the embodiment of chaos and evil but not clear out these spirit Vines that you claim your administration can deal with maybe your administration should've dealt with Vaatu"
At the end korra was shaking president Riku's chin, lin walked over but right before she split them up my stand sucker punched the avatar.
The crowd gasped and some yelled 'the president just punched the avatar' president Riku looked to the crowd and said "what no I didn't even touch the avatar"
Korra was on the ground reeling in pain while her nose dripped blood all over. Lin was confused because she saw nothing other then the avatar falling back onto the ground with her face covered in blood. Lin was trying to help korra but what was she gonna do, her nose was broken into 7 bits.
My stand wasn't no bitch when it came to strength, the B it had in strength showed loud and proud. All the metal benders were looking around not knowing what to do, the crowd was screaming about how the president just punched the avatar lin was helping the avatar and the president was screaming back to the crowd about how he didn't do anything.
All this chaos, almost riot level chaos over a singular person getting punched. Asami who was in the crowd walked up on stage and was attempting to help the avatar who was subsequently wheeled off to the hospital. Some of my fellow metal benders were murmuring about how the president had one mean right hook.
Some asked me if I saw it and I responded to them by staring them down with my one good eye then saying "it was on my right side idiot, I can't see shit on my tight side" I could see, I could see through my stand. Also I belive I can use some crude form of seismic sense. I could somewhat sense what was happening even when my stand wasn't out.
Lin walked over the the president who was still screaming and said "President Riku you are under arrest for assault of avatar korra" she placed handcuffs on the president of Republic city right infront of a large storm of reporters with cameras.
Someone people started throwing rocks at us, the approvel rate for president Riku was under 13% why were they mad. One hit me straight in the face and the person who threw it was definitely a baseball player in another life. My head started gushing blood and once my fellow metal benders daw this they used the metal barriers to push the crowd back.
One rushed over to me and tried to stop the bleeding, another rock probably from the ex-MLB player was headed straight towards my head AGAIN.
Right before it struck my I put out my hand to try and stop it's momentum but a blast of wind came from my fist. The metal bender who was helping me heard the rushing wind and said "are you airbending"
"I think I am, now shut you dirty fuckin mouth and get me to the hospital" I said while blood gushed down into my mouth. I tried to get it out of my mouth but the way this idiot was carrying me it only made the blood gush down my mouth faster.
I started choking on my own blood which went all over this idiots amour. I was wheeled away in an ambulance where some doctor or nurse I didn't care to know bandaged me up.
I was taken to the infirmary where I was stitched up. I read some book about rocks until lin came in and said "what happened" "Some dude hit me with a rock" I said bluntly and she replied "you idiot, why do my metal benders keep saying that you airbended"
"Ah, shit, yeah I'm pretty sure I airbended" I said exaggerating the word shit. I did a little demonstration, I made a mini tornado in my palm. "Whaaat, Theeee, fuuuck" lin said with her mouth agape.
I stopped the tornado because it was getting out if my control. Then I said like a wise man "my deduction was better then anticipated, I told avatar korra to keep the spirit portal open because it may lead tonon benders gaining the ability to bend, but now it had made a dual bender"
I let out a slight chuckle, then I continued on "this means that there are likely more new airbenders maybe even some more dual benders" the more dual benders was a stretch, I belive my dual bending came from my stand which was me and not me at the same time.
It counted as a spirit but also as an extension of me, also my stand absorbed horrendous amounts of spiritual energy from the vine. Lin said "how are you so calm, you are the only person other then the avatar to bend more then 1 element"
She shrugged then her hand radio started making noise. She listened to it then her mouth went agape again and she said "I just got a report about someone who reportedly used airbending and is now on top of the kyoshi bridge, how the fuck did you guess this"
"I didn't guess, I used some commen sense" I spoke like a nerd. I pushed up my ingainary glasses then lin walked away as she opened the door I said while stretching out my arm "Wait, what room is korra in, I need to speak with her"
"The closest room to the righ of yours" lin said nonchalantly, I wasn't attached to anything so I got up and put on a shirt. They took it off for some reason, I didn't know or care to know. I walked out then I told the closest room to the right.
Korra was in there with a whole lot of bandages on her nose. No one else was in there, this was odd because the avatar is a high value target and she has a lot of friends.
She mumbled "jojo, what do you need" I walked over to the side of her bed then raised my hand, I was pretending like I was bone bending but actually it was my stand readjusting the pieces of her broken nose.
Bone bending was beyond me by a far and large margin. She mumbled again "what are you doing, eh, my nose feels better" I walked out and went back into my room. I felt some what bad for sucker punching her also she needed to be in a fighting state for this season.
She probably also had a concussion but I couldn't fix that. I just read, then a friendly nurse came in and gave me copious amounts of wine. If I had a nickel for everytime I went to the hospital and had to get stitches I would have two nickels it's not a lot but it's odd it happened twice.
Lin helped me out of the hospital, she guided us in the opposite direction of home along the way she said "you smell like alcohol" and i replied "proably just cleaning alcohol" she shrugged it off. She took me to airbender island, she just dropped me off there and said to tenzin "he's your problem now" also she wishpered something in his ear
Tenzin helped me up, a bit rude to drop someone who just got out of the hospital amd that is drunk. Tenzin helped me walk then the three annoying little kids made an air scooter and all came on over to us and ikki said "what happened to your face why is it messed up"
Before I could answer meelo asked "what happend to your eye" the most respectful out of them all, jinora asked "is it true that your a dual bender"
That one I answered "yes it is truuue" then ikki said "so are you like our brother now" me and tenzin looked at each other. I annoyed their other comments and got settled in my new room.
I noticed that little purple spirit bunny following me again. My stand came out on its own and played with the little spirit bunny. While I was chilling in one of the airbender island courtyards with my stand and the spirit jinora walked on over to me.
I said with some hesitation "jinora, ima be honest with you, also you can't tell anyone that you know this, I'm your half brother, tenzin is my father but my mother is Lin beifong" she gasped and said "you seem serious, I came over here to play with the spirits behind you, but I learned that instead, this is a twist"
"Remember don't tell a soul, also don't mind the spirits they chill" I said with a serious face, thoughts raced through my head 'she can see my stand' 'is it because she's so spiritual'
I went back to sitting down on the bench, jinora walked away. Then mi stand floated in front of me and asked which caused me much surprise "I have a new ability from absorbing the spiritual energy, it is spirit drain, I can reach into any being plant, human, or spirit and steal all if their spiritual energy as a result its kills them, I must put my left hand on any spot of the spirit or human and then I start draining them"
I spoke back emphasizing both words "loooreee droooooopppp" my stand went back to non serious like he was before then started playing with the spirit bunny. Currently Zaheer was escaping prison or he has already escaped.
An airbison flew down and to the main entrance of airbender island. I got up and made my stand dissappear, I heard the spirit bunny's wings flutter much faster as the purple spirit bunny looked for my stand.
When I got close I saw temzin help the first airbender to be discovered after me and bumi. I chatted with the new airbender and bonded with him through our discovered of our new bending.
He was surprised to learn that I was a dual bender he did not believe me at first but I showed him. It was late and we all went to sleep, I woke up late. Once I got ready I walked outside and to the front entrance of the island. I was a hungover and groggy
I saw the air ship leaving without me, kya and pema looked at me and then kya said "oh, they've left to go and find new airbenders, but you can hold down the fort with us"
"Nah" I screamed as I halted that ship with metal bending then took a stone tile from the floor and flew on it. I let the airship go again then sneakily crawled in the airship. I arrived inside covered in dirt, I wiped it off and found a seat In the control room.
I had my trusty revolver with only the 7 bullets left in it's chamber because I didn't have time to grab ammo. I asked tenzin who turned around and yelped "where's the radio room on this thing"
"When did you get here" tenzin said still startled and I replied "I asked a question first"
"OH yes sorry, down that hall and make aleft then the second door on the right side."
I got up from the seat then followed his directions, I went into the radio room and radioed keeran "Keeran, you there" keeran replied "hello, what do you need jojo"
I said back to him "since you've been a great employee I've decided to give you a portion of the company, I give you 25% of the company, you are now a co-owner of Beifong armerments" He replied happily "thank you jojo"
He went radio silent and so did I, I walked back to the main room where everyone was and sat down.
