The darkness was all-encompassing, thick like a shroud, pressing in from all sides. I could feel the weight of it, suffocating and cold, as I wandered through a familiar, yet distorted landscape. The air smelled of damp earth and decay, and the ground beneath my feet was slick with mud. In the distance, shadows flickered and danced, twisting into shapes that teased the edge of recognition before dissolving back into the void.
