Though she was pretending to be okay, she wasn't. She was pretending to be tough and unfazed but was indeed fazed. 

After suffering Alpha Tyler's betrayal, it was hard for her to trust anyone, but she still trusted Maverick. 

However, these days, he was hiding stuff from her. 

She got a call from Tory, who had their rogue spies near the Dark Callisto pack to ensure her constant safety, and he told her everything. 

He told her how the Dark Callisto pack elders were planning on getting their alpha married to Amelia. 

And he didn't tell her such an important thing. 

If this wasn't enough, he had to bring the girl here.

She didn't suspect his intentions, but what was he actually doing to let Amelia know he wasn't with her?
