"Move away," Alpha Maverick said, and I froze in my place.

Many thoughts started to circulate in my head, shame being the leading one.

I immediately removed my hands from his cheeks before looking away.

What are you doing, Valencia? How can you allow this man to hover over you even after humiliating you like this? This was the first time you made a move and this was how he reacted. You were right in not giving him a chance earlier. Why did you have to make a fool out of yourself?

Multiple questions arose in my mind, and I clenched my fists.

I was about to push the man away with all the power I could muster which I am sure would've been more than enough to push him away from me.

However, before I could do that, Maverick cupped my cheeks.
