I couldn't help but smile as I watched Haoyu pace around my living room, his brow furrowed in that adorable way it always did when he was worried. He'd burst into my apartment like a man on a mission, all because I'd forgotten to turn the ringer on my phone after class. It was sweet, really, how much he cared. But sometimes, his overprotectiveness could be a bit much.

"Haoyu," I said, patting the spot next to me on the couch. "Come sit down. You're going to wear a hole in my carpet at this rate."

He hesitated for a moment before joining me, his body tense as a coiled spring. I reached out, taking his hand in mine, feeling the warmth of his skin against my palm.

"Now, why don't you tell me what's really going on? And don't say it's just because I didn't answer my phone. I know you better than that."
