章 28: The Awakening Of The Five Great Disasters (V)
Inside the dark sphere...
The tension in the air was so thick it was almost suffocating.
The four disasters glared at Lucius, with the killing intent burning out of their eyes. All of them could feel the dark energy in Lucius' body...
And all of them... want to kill him.
Behind Lucius, the giant golden egg glowed with the same golden light, keeping the dark sphere lit up.
"Tsk..." Lucius clicked his tongue.
"The glow of this egg is too intense, this fucking ruined my plans...," he didn't even bother to hide his thoughts.
"Mhmhmnmnm!"
"Ah... yeah, you cannot speak inside of this dark sphere. It was to make sure I wouldn't get annoyed..." he stopped as his lips curved into a wide smile...
"By your dying sounds..."
Swish!
Without warning, the four-winged man shot forward, his wings flaring as he summoned golden beams of energy, injecting them towards Lucius like a storm.
Boooom!
Lucius reacted instantly, dark vines erupting from his jacket, snapping forward like whips. They swatted the beams aside, sending sparks flying as they collided with the ground.
But the attack didn't stop. The werewolf howled and charged, its claws extended, aiming to rip Lucius apart.
The third disaster, cloaked in dark flames, launched fireballs at him, while the fourth disaster stayed back, trying to ensnare Lucius with some odd-looking chains.
At this, Lucius simply smirked.
"Huff—!" A faint black smoke oozed out of his eyes...
He extended his hand, and more vines burst from the ground, wrapping around the werewolf's legs.
The creature roared loudly as he tried to free himself, but the vines tightened, yanking it off balance.
At the same time, Lucius dodged to the side, avoiding the fireballs by a hair's breadth.
Boooom!
One of the flames exploded behind him, scorching the air.
Lucius moved his hand to the side, and the dark vines lashed out again, this time aiming for the four-winged man.
The man dodged, his wings flapping hard as he twisted mid-air, avoiding the strike.
"You're fast...!" Lucius muttered calmly, but in his eyes, there was a spark of obvious excitement.
Plop!
The werewolf freed himself from the vines and immediately leaped at Lucius again as his claws gathered a faint silver glow.
Lucius dodged, but this time, the four-winged man was there, waiting for him.
A blade of light materialized in his hand, and he slashed downward, aiming for Lucius's head.
Clang!
A vine shot out from Lucius's jacket, wrapping around the blade just before it could reach him. He twisted his wrist, yanking the weapon away.
The four-winged man stumbled back, but the werewolf was already on him again. It swiped at Lucius's chest, and this time, it managed to get through his defenses...!
Splurt!
Thud!
"Augh!" Blood sprayed from Lucius's chest as he was thrown backward, slamming into the ground with a heavy thud.
The werewolf didn't waste a second, charging at him again, but Lucius quickly got ready.
Dark vines erupted from the ground, wrapping around the creature's arms and legs, pinning it down.
"Not so fast..!"
The third disaster unleashed another wave of dark flames, and the fourth disaster sent wind tornados spiraling toward Lucius, trying to trap him.
However, Lucius snapped his fingers, and the vines lashed out again, blocking the flames.
Boom!
The fire collided with the vines, burning them away, but more grew in their place.
Lucius moved quickly, dodging the attacks with ease, but the four disasters weren't going to let him rest for a single second!
Swoop!
The four-winged man launched himself at Lucius again, his wings creating a gust of wind as he closed the distance.
Lucius immediately swung his arm, and a vine shot out, aiming for the man's throat!
The winged man dodged, but Lucius was already there. He gathered darkness in his fist, and threw a punch on the man's gut.
Thud!
The winged man grunted, staggering back, but before Lucius could follow up, the werewolf was on him again.
It swiped at his face, and though Lucius dodged, the creature's claws grazed his arm, tearing through his flesh.
Splurt!
"Hagh!" Lucius hissed in pain, but the wound healed almost instantly, because of his [Instant Recovery] skill.
The werewolf snarled and lunged again, but Lucius spun, his leg crashing into the creature's side with brutal force.
Crack!
The werewolf howled in pain as it was sent flying, but before Lucius could catch his breath, the third disaster attacked, its dark flames surging toward him like a tsunami.
Booom!
The flames engulfed Lucius, searing his skin, but he gritted his teeth, creating more dark vines to absorb the heat.
He waved his hand, and the vines shot forward, wrapping around the third disaster's arms, pulling it toward him.
"Your fire is weak," Lucius sneered as his eyes narrowed.
He yanked the third disaster closer while enveloping his hand with darkness.
Thud!
His fist slammed into the disaster's face, sending it crashing to the ground. But there was no time to rest.
The fourth disaster had been waiting, and now, it struck.
From the ground, silver chains wrapped around Lucius's legs, pulling him down, and more then, metal blades appeared, rushing towards his body.
Slash! Splurt!
Blood sprayed from Lucius's wounds as the blades cut deep, but again, his body healed almost instantly.
He roared in anger, summoning more vines from the ground. The vines lashed out, slamming into the fourth disaster, breaking its concentration.
Boom!
The chains dissipated, and Lucius was free. He leaped to his feet, his eyes burning with a deep amount of rage and annoyance.
The werewolf was already back on its feet, charging at him with bloodlust in its eyes.
"You're starting to annoy me," Lucius warned coldly.
The werewolf leaped, its claws aimed at Lucius's throat, so he extended both hands and dark vines shot out from the ground, wrapping around the werewolf's limbs, holding it in mid-air.
The creature struggled, snarling and snapping its jaws, but the vines held tight. Lucius stepped forward, his hand glowing with dark energy.
"Goodnight."
He thrust his hand forward, his fingers plunging into the werewolf's chest. The creature howled in agony, its body convulsing as Lucius drained its life force.
Thud!
The werewolf's body went limp, and a notification appeared in front of Lucius.
[Congratulations! You have killed the Second Great Disaster. Extra rewards are going to be awarded after the end of the scenario!]
Unfortunately, there wasn't any time to celebrate.
The four-winged man flared his wings in rage as he charged at Lucius again, his sword of light glowing with a huge amount of mana that could probably destroy a single building with just a single swing.
Swooop!
The blade slashed down, but suddenly, a vine shot out, catching the blade just before it could reach him.
The four-winged man snarled, pulling back and swinging his sword again, but Lucius was much faster than him.
Clang!
Another vine shot out, wrapping around the man's arm, and pulling him off balance. Lucius lunged forward, his fist connecting with the man's jaw with a sickening crack.
Thud!
The winged man staggered back, but before Lucius could press his advantage, the third disaster was back once again, its dark flames surging toward him.
Boom!
The flames engulfed Lucius again, but this time, he didn't dodge. He stood still, letting the flames burn him as his eyes glowed even more ominously.
"Like I've said before... these flames are too weak!"
He raised his hand, and the flames suddenly reversed, shooting back toward the third disaster.
The creature screamed in shock as its own flames consumed it, but Lucius wasn't done.
"Perish."
He waved his hand, and dark vines shot out from the ground, wrapping around the third disaster's body, crushing it with brutal force.
Crack!
The creature's bones snapped under the pressure, and with one final scream, it collapsed to the ground, dead.
[Congratulations! You have killed the Third Great Disaster. Extra rewards are going to be awarded after the end of the scenario!]
With that, Lucius walked to the four-winged man and took the opportunity that his agility was higher than his and plunged his hand into its chest...

Finally, only one disaster remained, Lucius's eyes locked onto him. The creature stood back, its body blending into the shadows, but Lucius could see it clearly.
His eyes gleamed with dark energy, and he raised his hand.
"You're next." he smiled faintly.
The fourth disaster snarled, manipulating the shadows around him, forming blades of made out of darkness.
He sent them flying toward Lucius, however, vines erupted from the ground, blocking the blades with ease.
Clang! Clang!
The two forces clashed, but Lucius was stronger. He stepped forward, his hand glowing with dark energy.
"This ends now."
With a snap of his fingers, the shadows recoiled, snapping back toward the fourth disaster like whips.
"Ugh...!" The disaster cried out in pain as the shadows turned on him, wrapping around his body, and binding it tightly.
Lucius stepped towards him as he enveloped his hand with a black energy energy.
"Die."
He plunged his hand into the fourth disaster's chest, draining its life force.
Thud!
The disaster's body trembled, and with one final gasp, it collapsed to the ground, dead.
[Congratulations! You have killed the Fourth Great Disaster. Extra rewards are going to be awarded after the end of the scenario!]
"Haah..." Lucius sighed faintly.
But, he wasn't done yet.
He turned toward the golden egg, which was now cracking, glowing brighter than ever.
"And now..." Lucius whispered with a smile. "...the fifth disaster awakens."
