"Does that mean you dislike me?" Nathan's expression turned somewhat gloomy.

"I don't dislike you, but..." Ava felt something was off, yet couldn't pinpoint exactly what.

"So if you don't dislike me, that means you have some feelings for me. Would you then consider dating me?" Nathan ventured.

Ava paused, frustrated as the conversation circled back to this topic. "Can we stop bringing this up?"

"But this is exactly why I came to talk to you," Nathan replied innocently, leaving Ava at a loss for words.

"Let me think about it," Ava said, hoping to deflect the matter, convinced that given some time, Nathan would forget about it.

"Okay." Seeing Ava contemplating, Nathan wisely chose not to press further. After he left, Ava breathed a sigh of relief, wondering what Nathan was plotting next.
