After Caroline entered the door, Eddison then shut the door with his free hand. His right hand was still tightly holding Caroline's.

She could feel the warmth coming from his palm.

"Mom, she's Caroline, my wife. I mentioned to you before," Eddison proceeded with the introduction. He held Caroline right beside him, with no intention of retreatingt at all.

Eddison's mother, Vanessa Yeager, glanced at Eddison before fixing her gaze on Caroline.

"Caroline Simons? I heard about you. Anne told me that her son, Tyler, was marrying a woman named Caroline. Is that you?" Vanessa asked.

Vanessa's voice was not loud, and her tone was even gentle.

However, Caroline felt even more awkward.

But these shouldn't be a matter. Caroline only wanted to greet Vanessa properly. After all, she was Eddison's mother.

However, Vanessa did not give her a chance to speak. She said, "Since dinner is already prepared, it doesn't make sense for us to stay here. Let's have dinner first."
